Geolocation Services
Anyone able to recommend self-hosted geolocation options to use with AV integration?

They have two paid tiers that I am familiar with, an on-demand API service lookup, and a local database that you can download periodically. They do have a free tier, but it's not as accurate as their paid tier. |

Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Missouri, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Arizona I was thinking about creating something for this and offering as a service, but it's too expensive for the data and really somewhat of a risk. Lawsuits are going to happen. I think maxmind is more or less the same pricing. I do use the free version for some projects and i can say, it's quite bad and not really accurate, I think its like 75% accurate. You may not want to go that route. |

There are some pretty cheap pay as you go apis: https://ipdata.co/pricing.html |
I use both MaxMind and IP2Location paid databases for integration with my RTB platform, while my use case is not specifically for AV, it can certainly be used for this application as well.

For some of the other projects I needed long/lat and that was like $6980 a year, so I just went with the free db from maxmind at the time. |

ip-api.com is great and affordable. i've been using their API for years. we do about a million queries a day without any issues. much better data and lower resources compared to maxmind.
