no sponsored links on google for 'sex'?

why is that?

Too general. They don't consider it adult and won't allow adult sites to sponsor the term.

Interestingly enough, go through overture and look at some of their bid prices

Sex .15
BBW .30
balloon 1.16

You're sort of right. Google determines whether an porn sites can advertise on a term based on the type search results that show up. If the majority of the results are pornographic, porn ads can be displayed. If the majority are educational the porn ads won't be shown. Sex has flip-flopped in and out of our campaigns rather frequently. Its a big word but relatively low quality traffic.

hey it's money for google ... ppl wanna type sex in and see what they can find go ahead who cares if they see porn ads, its their fault for typing it :winkwink:

BBW isn't just a porn term..it is a term for an entire community that existed off and online way before the porn world noticed it existed.

Yes, Sarah, I know :-)

I was just doing research a few weeks ago, that "niche" terms had higher ppc costs than "generic" ones :-)
