Using an old hard drive on a new system?

Having some problems with my new computer and the hard drive...

Got a new computer and I can't boot up with my old hard drive, I get the blue screen with the error before it gets to the Windows XP logo.

I had to install Win XP on my new hard drive, and plug the old one in as a slave to access the files.

Only problem with this is I can't run some programs (like ICQ) off the old hard drive....

ummm have u considered maybe the core drivers on the hard drive don't match with components on the new system? its happened to me before, I was pretty much fucked :(

Huh? I got a new Asus a7n8x deluxe, AMD Barton 2500+ system.

Old hard drive is a 6 month old Seagate 60gb, new hard drive is a 120gb Seagate..

Don't know why it wouldn't work

I had the same problem.. Still haven't found the answer.. my old HD is sitting in a box with all my nice info on it :(

Same HD as current, and it wouldn't boot as a slave either....

Ouch....well you wouldn't boot a slave...slave is a 2nd drive, but you still should be able to access the data on it as a slave..
