Parents outraged after son finds bullets in Christmas toys
A Montgomery County couple plan to file formal complaints against a popular retailer and toy company after finding ammunition in their child's Christmas gift.
ABC13 Eyewitness News
(12/30/03 - MONTGOMERY CO.) ? A Montgomery County father received a nasty surprise when he looked inside one of his kids' new Christmas toys.
When Jason Burson opened his son's Lego Bionicle, he found 29 live 22-magnum bullets mixed in among the parts. The discovery frightened him and made him angry. He contacted the Porter Wal-Mart where he bought the toy and Lego.
"I'm not in it for the money, really, I just want to find out who did this, and see them get justice," said concerned parent Jason Burson. "Because it could be a very, very bad thing that somebody could get hurt."
Lego says this is the first time such an incident has happened, adding that Bionicals are weighed before shipping, and anything unusual is rejected. They are conducting an investigation.
Wal-Mart says it will also investigate once the Bursons file a formal complaint.
