how much bandwidth with 1 gb of content
anyone have idea how much bandwidth could burn avs site with 1 gigabyte (a few dozen of 50 mb movies) of content inside ?
listed on, for example sexkey or other not-too-popular avs... |
Totally variable question... How many unique hits are you expecting?
|
not more than 2 k uniques on the main site (not content).

An easy estimate although not very accurate would be to figure out how many members would join, figure out how many of them would view all of your content and you have a quick estimate as to how much traffic your members area would have pushed.
The rest just depends on how heavily you advertise, and if you run tgp or mgp galls. |

you know- there could be also possibility that 2 people buy memberships, but on the content page will be about hundred (from avs sites index)... |
Impossible to say...you'd have to test. The wording on the AVS links can make all the difference. You could get no traffic or lots.
If you run sponsors on the site in addition to AVS sales, then you want to keep the AVS links, but otherwise, just don't link. That'll solve a lot of bandwidth problems, but you're also missing a lot of traffic that could be diverted to something else. Another option is to go the "premium avs" route, so there will be fewer password holders coming to your site. You can also do what a lot of webmasters do and use the AVS to enter into a smaller subset of your overall site and then sell an additional membership for the rest of the stuff. 1 GB of content on an AVS site is a lot. I wouldn't personally do the latter suggestion, but it makes sense. Anyway, my :2 cents: |
Just about every AVS will remove your site from their link list if you request. If you have a ton of content on one site, this will keep your bandwidth very low (except for the sales you make from your own traffic).
