Conversions from signups forms

Have my site at ccbill and are currently looking on the numbers from the signup form. Just wondering what could be considered "normal" numbers for a mix of traffic quality:

9.93% signs up
41.67% is approved

price is $24.95 montly but doing a test with $2.95 trial right now to see what happens..

seemes low to me personally, but haven't been into the paysite game since 2000 so kind of interresting to see what others come up with..

:2 cents:

Your ccbill rep can probaly campare it to some similar sites for you.

I have 60% approved, and think that's pretty bad too...
But 41%?? Is CCBill scrubbing heavy these days or what?

That means you could have earned over the double amount if all the attempted signups went thru...

ccbill got mail.. lets see what they say..

my test isn't going to well.. people keep buying the 24.95 instead of the 2.95.. :eek7

If you really want to have a trial, pop a console on them as they back out of the CCBill page.

your approval rate will depend somewhat on the type of site.

sites that appeal to "mature" or softcore niche will have higher approval rate than pure jerkoff type sites.

scam type exploitation theme sites "bangbus" etc. will have some of the lowest approval rates.

it's a little micro lesson in sociology.

another interesting ratio is "form hits" to form submissions.

if this ratio has too much disparity you need to look at price changing or modification to get more people to actually submit the signup form.

That seems low

that seems not nice

just for the record, my site is a extreme/bizarre site with a personal/amateur look.

Anyone have any ideas how to improve the form hits to submissions besides the price? Anyone done any testing on why people go to the signup form and decides to leave?

my :2 cents:

CCBill is a good company but they tend to scrub way too much,
proof is that i had the hardest time to buy stuff like statsremote or content at zipcontent even thout my visa PREMIER is linked to a pretty full bank account.

second thing, just forget about bthe trial, you will get a bunch of freeloaders who don't mind to spend 2.95 to download all your content and cancel rebills a minute after they signup.
still as someone said the trial option is good if you pop it from the signup page on unload if the surfer did not sign up.

hope you get the general idea:glugglug
