so what is the situation here.. some asshole registers a good one word domain name back in 96' and is too illiterate to do anything with it?

i wonder how successful people are in contacting these people and making partnership deals to take over the site and offer the registrant 15% of profits? i'm sure that is done a lot... but i imagine its about luck, and presentation

what if you don't have the insane $ to buy what most of them ask?

sit around and beat your pud and not atleast attempt to do something? i'm sure a contract can be written up that would secure it.

but, isn't there a ton of power in really short, simple, direct, to the point domain names? if the owner were very reasonable, it could turn out to be more profitable.

I like 2 word domains better - more descriptive and could be as short as a 1 word domain - e.g. FatSex.com :thumbsup
