Van Halen Is Back ------

Just saw an ad on TV about Van Halen being back on the road. Appears that Sammy H. is the frontman again.

Any VH fans out there???

I first saw them in like 78-79' - when they first hit the road touring
with Black Sabbath. They blew everybodies shit away. People were looking at each other thinking...."what the fuck did we just witness"? Black Sabbath came out and people started leaving - it was funny. Eddie was the fucking guitar-god in those days.

Love VH, but in the words of Def Leppard, sometimes it's better than fade away

Saw Van Halen back in the beginning in Winnipeg and Vancouver
I like them better when Roth was with them.

My Favorite VH tunes are
Running With The Devil
Ice Cream Man
Hot For The Teacher
and Atomic Punk

neewwman 04-23-2004 10:37 PM

I got excited when I saw the thread title because to me "Van Halen is Back" could only mean a reunion with Roth.

With Hagar, :sleep

I remember that show. I was a big Van Halen fan when David Lee Roth was with them. I didn't care that much for the show at the Hard Rock in Vegas with David. He looked like he was tring to jack-off on stage. He just seemed like a old guy trying to hold on to the old days of Van Halen during that show. I liked him better in the Van Halen days and during his solo projects with Steve Vai.

I'm an old dog, saw that tour too. Fucking awesome. "Eruption" was fucking pandemoniuim! I can still remember the look of amazement on peoples faces seeing that Eddie really could bust it live and it wasn't studio bullshit. I'm one of the ones that left halfway through Black Sabbath. It was an excruciatingly bad "Black Sabbath" they were playing and Ozzy was fucked up and staggering around the stage. I couldn't watch that joke after VH!

Saw them 5 times btween 78-80. Never saw them after that.

Goose 04-24-2004 02:16 AM

haha does he still exist? that's really a news to me...

Firehorse 04-24-2004 02:18 AM

Without David Lee Roth it doesn't have the buzz. :glugglug
