The Military is getting desperate...Navy Reserves won't leave me alone

Jesus Christ I finished my commitment to the Navy and even the two years of IRR so my eight year commitment is finished...However, these people keep sending me a letter telling me to call them on some bullshit form that they hold on me. First, they actually tried to say that I'm "still under contract"....I told them that I got my Honorable Discharge PLUS I just finished up the two year IRR part in February of this year. When I call they ask me if I want to return and I tell them HELL NO!

They just aren't taking the hint. They keep sending me the same stupid letter time after time and I keep telling them NO..

WTF is wrong with them?

eroswebmaster 07-07-2004 03:35 PM

No you know they are desperate when they start calling guys like me.

If the phone rings I'll let you know.

Rictor 07-07-2004 03:48 PM

Aren't they calling in ex-military for involuntary service now? We are about one step away from the draft.

Mr Pheer 07-07-2004 04:17 PM

You cant just tell them no

the magic words are:
do not contact me again

that worked with me on the army guys

TheDoc 07-07-2004 04:18 PM

Draft will be up and going by mid 2005...

I served 2 years, saw some action, got messed up, honorable discharge, huge v.a. mess for benefits and over college. They couldn't pay me 10 million untaxable dollars a year to inlist again.

twistyneck 07-07-2004 04:20 PM

Why don't you want to die for George Bush? Are you a terrorist?

Lawmaker: Reserves Near Breaking Point

In a bipartisan show of concern that the military is dangerously overworked, lawmakers said Wednesday the Pentagon (news - web sites) is stretching troops to their limit and perhaps undermining the nation's future force.

---

The Army in April broke a promise to some active-duty units, including the 1st Armored Division, that they would not have to serve more than 12 months in Iraq. It also has extended the tours of other units, including some in Afghanistan.

I did my time in the Cola wars. Served from '96 to '01. Came back a cripple and they called me a baby killer.

A recruiter just called me the other day... I was interested like 6 years ago and they still had all my info. :thumbsup

EviLGuY 07-07-2004 06:27 PM

Makes sense.. like in the Fahrenheit 9/11 movie with those 2 recruiters for the marines.. typical hustlers only for the marines, so its good.

I think if Bush gets re-elected you might just see the draft come back.

Now I'm thinking of when I walked into the recruiters office before I turned 28, and told them I'd sign up if they let me fly something cool. Fuckers told me I was to old :1orglaugh
