Retro-Gaming: Lucas Arts

firstly, yes, I am a girl (for some reason I hear that when ever I talk about these games) but I must be going through a trip down memory lane because I just re-ordered all the Monkey Island Games, Loom, Indiana Jones (though, I could only find the first one) and Grim Fandango.

I know that in comparison to what is out to day they are nothing graphics wise but for some reason I enjoyed them more.

Old games are fun :glugglug

Jakke PNG 08-08-2004 07:12 AM

I LOVED Monkey islands. Best damn games I have ever played. Grim Fandango was fun too.

NoCarrier 08-08-2004 07:17 AM

Grim Fandango was simply, one of the best games I ever played.

My first LucasArts game was Zak McKracken on the Amiga 500. :thumbsup

i got sparked into this by my friend re-buying a 500 and a 1200 and loading it up with all his old games.

Old games are great, but sometimes not as great as you remember them :winkwink:

My favoraite Lucas Arts games were Rebel Assault and Rebel Assault II, if that counts. My favoraite classic of all is the first Commander Keen, still love playing that one. :thumbsup

Buzz 08-08-2004 07:36 AM

Super Mario is still the best one :)

yeah but I think he likes the challenge. He just messaged me to say that he is close to getting his 1200 connected to the 'net.

???

This is a LucasArts thread, not a Namco thread.. WTF?

mardigras 08-08-2004 08:31 AM

I don't do well with newer games that require more than about 6 buttons:glugglug

There's an Atari 2600 emulator online that comes with over 500 games already plugged in. You could lose a few hours getting retro with that.:thumbsup

Ok when Monkey Island is OLD I feel REALLY old. I guess if I talk nostalgic about my ColecoVision I'm just plain ancient.

I'm sure that 90% of people here never played an Atari 2600 and that's fucking scary

I was 10 or 11 when that came out. My friend had one. My stupid step dad got us an Odessy 2. Now I know hardly ANYONE here remembers that.
