Cyber Thrill Casino
Finally received my check today.....
Lmfao. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif No seriously though, I'm looking for information regarding the Cyber Thrill casino scam operation. I can't help but find it... interesting. I know that they ripped webmasters - but out of how much $$$? I wasn't even on the net when the scam happened, so I'm looking for info / news stories, etc. Are they wanted by the for fraud, maybe by law enforcement or the FBI? Did they like, disappear or have they moved on to other things? Has anyone ever been caught? Did anyone know the people behind the scam? Interesting... |
I did get a check from them, and I can prove that, just wait a few minutes and I'll find it in my HD. It was amazing. Didn't paid me about $600 from one account (had little traffic), but paid me $43 from other.

Didn't you cash that check? |
Yep, I cleared it at the bank. But I'm not sure if I got the money after 1 month (time to clear the check) in my bank account. I deposited with others, and I still don't know if they paid me or not. Maybe the check was a scam too. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif

Wow, that brings back some memories, that was a LOOOONG time ago. They fucked me outta some money. I did get one check in from them for $183, but then they fucked me outta a few hundred more than that.
As far as info on it. I found this page here on CNet which has some great info on it. It's REALLY good which explains all about it - http://www.news.com/News/Item/0,4,23871,00.html Ha ha ha ha, check out this quote from Cyberthrill that I got from that CNet article -------------------------------------- Thomas characterized the banner advertising system as a huge success with tens of thousands of participants. But the vast majority of those participants are cheating, he said. "Seventy-five percent commit some kind of fraud," Thomas said. "A lot of it we forgive, and send some kind of warning. But about 30 percent are blatant and repetitive abusers." Those users get their accounts canceled and are not paid for the hits they generated, he said. --------------------------- Choke Choke, WOW 75% of the webmasters that promoted them commited some kind of fraud. Damn, I bet that about 90% people commit fraud that promote Amateur Pages, ha ha ha. I like how they say "a lot of it, we forgive", that's classic shit there. Here's another page that follows someone's dealings with Cyberthill, he posted their emails and stuff, interested stuff - http://members.nbci.com/maryi/cyber/fraud_01.html [This message has been edited by Slick (edited 06-01-2001).] |
The memories that come with the mention of that name. They were the first sponsor I ever used and did not receive a cent from them. I email and could not even get a reply out of these .... people.
I thank god the people over at the netpond boards didn't let me quit then cause I found out not all sponsors scam/cheat. fyi. I only lost a few hundred but it was a huge deal when I first started. I would be checking with you bank to see if that cheque is going to bounce on you. I did back then find entire bbs boards devoted to thier cheating and scams but don't know if they still exist. I'll post them here if I find them again. |

Hell, CyberThrill was around in the Gold Rush days. Gold Rush was my first sponsor and they were great, but went to hell.
|
If I remember right the name of the program, Gold Rush didn't pay me. I made like $400 the first period, but one day my stats were showing nothing. Sent emails, but they didn't reply.
