mpeg 1 or mpeg 2 for movies

mpeg 2 is variable bit rate but i read somewhere there is a licence fee to it.

What do you want to do ?

For MGP mpg1 is best because it is so versatile,,
Mpg2 not as versatile so maybe better for members area.

mpeg1 is the safer choise

mpeg2 requires a mpeg2 decoder which is not installed on all computers by default
