Whistle Being Blown on Dick Cheney's Beloved Halliburton

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6323593/

and still the Bush supporters level of reading is of a 2nd grader - still wont understand that all this shit and more is hurting american. God if only the Catholic church had sheep like Bush's supporters we'd all be sucking on crackers and wine

directfiesta 10-25-2004 09:57 AM

Bush supporters are blind.

Peaches 10-25-2004 10:02 AM

I guess everyone has forgotten all the contracts awarded to Halliburton under the Clinton administration.......

Fact is very few, if any, other companies have the resources to do what they do.

Bansheelinks 10-25-2004 10:02 AM

Sadly, it looks like Bush will win re-election as there is only a week to go and Kerry leads in ZERO polls. This is a frightening prospect for us adult webmasters as we know Bush will stack the Supreme Court with his kind of people hostile to our aims.

However, just watch the next four years of Bush.........I predict major scandals will come about, exposing this administration.

Without Bids ????

That IS the point.

Peaches 10-25-2004 10:10 AM

Yes, without bids. Just like it was done under Clinton. When there's only ONE COMPANY who can perform a particular job, why waste time and money taking bids which won't materialize?

adis55 10-25-2004 10:18 AM

This is the shit that americans wrote off as "propaganda" and
"conspiracy theory" when mentioned in Moore's film.

meanwhile the assholes are using taxpayers dollars to fund
Haliburton, KBR, Carlyle Group, United Defense..

just a thought of all this makes me wanna puke

y even bring it up in threads, america has been bent over while ago and has been fucked in the ass for years already and still is !

the sad part is, the fucker will get elected again and go for another 1000 billion dollar scheme

The national polls don't mean much but keep in mind three things: 1) they are in a statistical dead heat - within the polls margin of error; 2) Bush tops out at 48% which is bad, very bad because the undecideds break for the challenger (as much as a 80/20 split predicted) and 3) electoral college predictions swing from Bush to Kerry and back again - it's a dead even heat out there with the legions of newly registered voters carrying a ton of weight in this election.

Kerry could pull this off and Bush and co. are running very scared right now.

sperbonzo 10-25-2004 11:26 AM

After Clinton started an unprovoked attack against Serbia/croatia, there were all KINDS of contracts awarded to Halliburton without any kind of bidding process.

Where were all the liberals then?

Just an observation:2 cents: :2 cents:

I've been watching the polls for the past year fuelcell, daily; I am starting to conclude Bush will win the pop. vote and around 290 electoral votes as it stands today.

And it sucks to no end because it will hurt our industry like you wouldn't believe. Just wait and see. Its a harsh harsh blow for us.

You'll be whistling another tune when COPA2 comes around the pipe, and by then it'll be too late.

The SC will sooner or later by stacked by Dubya and won't vote it down this time.

its just disheartening to see Bush keep leading in every single poll knowing what this will mean for our industry and yet having ppl within our industry support that shithead.

i'm a fiscal conservative and yet i know where my bread is buttered and it surely isn't with the republicans who are hostile towards us

just look no further than John Asshead.

well thats good news but its the ONLY poll I've seen lately that has Kerry leading Bush in Pop vote, out of at least 30 or so. Worse, almost all polls agree that Bush is slighty ahead in Ohio and Florida yet Kerry remains ahead in Pennsylvania, which I think Kerry will take. But if he doesn't win in one of the other two, he will most certainly lose.

So why didn't you complain when Clinton was doing the exact same thing with the exact same company? Cheney was making a lot more money with Halliburton then than he is now, BTW.

sperbonzo 10-25-2004 01:06 PM

I'm going to say this again to see if I get a coherent answer....

Cheney has stock options worth over $20 Million in Halliburton. WTF are you talking about? If you don't see that as a conflict of fuckin interest, you are in dreamland. Not only that, it was a lone bid contract.

Bansheelinks 10-25-2004 01:09 PM

Fuck I wish Clinton was back in; we'd have a President that actually believes in the first amendment and good appointees to the Supreme Court.

I look forward to seeing him campaigning on behalf of Kerry.

I didn't say he wasn't making money, I said he was making more when Clinton was in office. :winkwink:

The contracts during the Clinton administration were no bid contracts.

Halliburton has also won many bid processes.

Clinton doesn't want Kerry to win because he wants Hilary in there in 2008.

codymc12 10-25-2004 02:08 PM

Regarding the polls - I can't put much faith in any of them, at the moment.

There is a lot of speculation that the group of 'those who don't usually bother to vote' are heavily polarized by this election. If that bears out, the polls will end up as an extremely unreliable indicator of where things really stand.

The key is simple - vote. Don't get apathetic, or assume a win for Bush. Just vote.

titmowse 10-25-2004 02:13 PM

Halliburton is so sloppy:

You see, the inability to think clearly about the world around you usually leaks into your business ability as well. :1orglaugh
