Crunching the Numbers - stats, ratios, projections, dreams
 

Anyone else obsessed with crunching the numbers?

When my real work is done for the day, there's nothing I like more than sitting down with a pen and paper (or notepad.exe) and crunching the numbers ... as well as projecting for the future.

There's the standard stuff, like gallery->landing/front page->signup page->signup ratios ...

But there's also the real fun stuff, like making projections based upon those numbers...

So, I am making on average 1 sale per 1200 gallery hits right now(whoop!), if I increase my gallery hits to 150,000 - 200k / day via a hun (or other) link, then even if my ratio falls to 1/1500 I am still STOKED and making a nice profit.

Cost of signup: $5.95 - processing fees = $5.15 * 100 = $515.00 on a $200 gallery spot = 250% profit margin...

In theory of course lol. Sometimes the theories pan out, other times...

etc etc etc etc...

Several years in the biz and I still love this shit.

What is it that keeps YOU going in this biz?
