Arles Image is one I've heard is decent, some people use it. Never installed it myself, although it's been sitting on my harddrive for a while now.

Arles cant thumb subfolders...

Sure it can! Arles has multi-folder processing. It's a fantastic tool, but it does have a bit of a learning curve. The support forums are a great resource - take a look and see how fast the developer replies to questions.

Arles Image is one of those "must have" programs in my view.

Damn! I cant get arles to work! It only makes 79 thumb, only one thumb for each subfolder and it places the thumbs in the root folder. :waaaaahh

And ThumbsPlus creates the most ugly thumbs I've ever seen...

Well... if Arles doesn't work for you, you can probably use Photoshop, but its not that easy :) Seriously, Arles would be the best choice here.

I've been using this for YEARS. Easily my favorite program for this.

Does anyone have a script that can sit on a server and make thumbs down the tree?
