How secure are you?

I just had some wierd shit happen at my bank and it had me thinking when the last time I changed all my passwords online. How often do you change your passwords? Once a year? Once a month? Never?

once a week

I'm secured enough on it, got nothing be worried of.

any password can be brute forced cracked, its just a matter of how long its going to take to be cracked.

it could take 3 days or 30 years, eventually it WILL be cracked.

I don't think passwords can guarrantee security, even retina scan, finger print scan, or any identity verification system is vulnerable to hacking.

megatgpdotnet 08-05-2005 02:33 AM

You are never secure enough...

Yeah me too, I'm using all the same passwords and I'm kinda secure...

The best security is to always authorize on 3 things. Something you know, something you have and something you are. So you could use a password, one of those syncronized time code cards and a fingerprint. I don't think someone will manage to get all of those without you ending up buried in the desert somewhere.

change my root passwords on my servers every week.

do audits every 3 days.

Keep in mind that for that the attacker must keep trying and trying...something that doesn't happen... :2 cents:

As for the topic, I think i'm fairly well secure myself.

V_RocKs 08-05-2005 04:55 AM

I use stuff like, qwerty and sometimes switch it up with qwerty1 or do it leet like qw3rty or qw3r7y and no one ever even tries those...
