Did Anyone See The Fight At Webmaster Insomnia Party?

Fuck I was coming back from the bathroom and into the VIP and this guy infront of me was trying to get into the vip section. This huge black bouncer was watching this section and told the guy he didn't have the right pass on (I would guess). The guy decided he would just walk by and tell the bouncer to fuck off.

Well holy shit, the bouncer put out his arm and fucking closelined this dude like it was the WWF! It was fucking crazy man, then the rest of the bouncers pounced on this guy like pitbulls and dragged him out.

Jesus did that guy ever make a bad mistake and I am sure he regrets it now LOL! Does anyone know who it was?

I hope so too dude, thanks again for a great party! Sorry I missed the shoot but we were down in South Beach at the Epassporte Dinner and the bus ride is about 40 minutes there and back. However it was a great dinner so it was worth the trip :)

I actually think the bouncer is in the wrong here.

He's supposed to be a professional and in a job like his (ie reallly fucking shit job) you cop alot of sledgin all the time!

He had no right to clean this guy up not even if the guy came out swinging. Defend himself yes but bash him NO!!! Sounds like the guy was tiny in comparison. What did the bouncer have to gain in doing this?

Before anyone retorts with 'that's what a small man would say'. I'm 6'4 ~260pounds and not a fat fuck. I would never do this to anyone. I think that bouncers should be held accountable to their foolish actions alot more.

A good example is right here in Australia. One of our former cricket legends David Hookes was camel punched by a fucking bouncer OUTSIDE down the street from the club and he DIED!

i think it was an arabic kid who wasnt even in the industry, i remember seeing the bouncers walk him out sometime after the big commotion and he didnt want to go out. i saw the kid before that watching the shoot and he was like "ive never seen anything like this before" and someone asked him what he did and he was like "i know the owner he got me up here".

a perfect example on why its better to have your own security working the area at a club if its possible. great party though, my favorite out of all of them during internext.

beemk 08-08-2005 10:30 PM

no doubt georgeyw. they get paid to stop fights and get people out of the club. they shouldnt be roughing anybody up. a club i go to in detroit where theres a lot of fights the bouncers are just as quick as they were at insomnia and dont fuck around. if they need to get someone out 4 bouncers rush him quick and just pick him up over their head each grabbing a leg or arm/shoulder and carry him through the crowd outside.

You see i don't mind that. There is no need to beat someone up. Just taking them straight out of the place solves everyones problem.

At a local club here i watched as a bouncer kicked a young kid out. The kid did the usual verbal attack and the bouncer grabbed the other bouncers and starting after him. I yelled out to the bouncer "im taking photos mate". He gave me a bit of abuse, but ffs what is the need? At this same club 2 bouncers killed a young kid (18) about 2 years ago, chased him down the street, bashed him and left him to die and be found by his own father.

Sorry for my rant - but I really fucking cannot stand what bouncers are allowed to get away with. I have a million other stories where bouncers have done the wrong thing too. To be fair i have come across a very small percentage of bouncers who know how to go about ejecting someone without bashing the shit out of them.

I can't help myself. I don't get into any type of physical altercation. But if i see them doign the wrong thing then i'll say so to them. I've learnt that if you approach them and simply calmly tell them that you are more than happy to stand as a witness for this person if they wish to press any form of legal action then they back away.
I know nothing about the legal buso but they don't know that and for the most part are too stupid to know otherwise.

i was actually agreeing with you, most bouncers try to pretend like they're badasses.

uhuh - that's the type of mentality i'm talking about.

There is NO need for violence in any of the instances i've mentioned.

I agree... you don't happen to be byron george?

Hey guys, thanks to those that came out and enjoyed our party at China White!! I just finally got home from the airport....damn I hate airports.

What happened in this situation, was this:

The upstairs/VIP areas and open bar until 4am was only for industry folk, not the general public. The general public however was allowed in the club on the bottom floor after midnight (some local girls made it upstairs, but no guys).

Now I think yeah probably the bouncer overreacted, but he was under strict orders to not let any guys who just came in off the street upstairs. Add to the fact the other guy was with more people and supposedly threatened the bouncer, the bouncer handled it the way he saw fit.

Atleast it didn't involve any Internext folks though. We weren't really expecting such a high turn-out, that proved to be both good (definately wasnt a dead party ;p), and bad since many people dont like being overcrowded at clubs).

Thanks to all who came and had a blast :thumbsup

Not in the ones YOU mentioned... but I've seen plenty of instances in my time where someone really did have a smack in the head or a sound ass-kicking coming to them for their behaviour in a nightclub. There are all sorts of scenarios happening, maybe this particular one was one of them.

Only someone who was actually there who saw what happened could tell you if that's the case or not.

I was a bouncer for many years, and did concert security for many years as well... had very few instances where I had to get a bit rough. Sometimes that's the best course of action, depending on who you're dealing with and what they're acting like.

You're right though, it's all about focus and on diffusing a situation in the best manner rather than taking pleasure in beating some mouthy kid's head in.

It's actually quite refreshinng to hear an ex-bouncer say this. You're 100% correct it is about diffusing a situation. Getting in on the action only creates a bigger unnecessary problem.

I would have thought most bouncers would be trained to do just this. But it doesn't seem to be the case.
