What script to run a video site like all the ones blowing up on the net nowadays
 

Anyone here using an off the shelf script to run a video site were users can upload a video or email a link to friends. Just want to experiment with this phenomenon

That stuff seems sorta played out too me, granted there are like 5000 of these type sites now, they all have the same god damn videos and pictures, its turning into porn haha

The ones you know about. There are tons of those sites that are sucking shit and not getting traffic. It's the same concept as in porn. Some sites are big and marketed well and some sites barely get any traffic at all.

That's just my opinion though, I could very well be wrong.

And simple simon... I'd try hitting up the webmasters of one of those sites and asking them what script they're using. Maybe you'll get an answer. Worth a try at least.

There is a forum that caters to that NotSafeForWorktype site that all those guys post to. I don't think I'm allowed to post the domain here though...do a google search for "crazy fucked up" and it should be in the results.

Played out? These sites are just getting their feet wet. Collegehumor is making over $10,000,000 + per year and will probably be doing $50 million or so in the next 5 years. These sites might not know it but I think they will have a major and I mean major role in media in the next 10 years.

Really think about it? What if you had a network of 25 of these sites pulling in a total of 50,000,000 monthly visitors or so. You dont think you would be one of the most powerful politcal people to the under 25 crowd in the world? Think about what kind of messages you can send to people. Think about what kind of ifluence you can have on a presidents vote. What if you got 25,000 young adults to vote when they might not have before. That would be power CNN, FOX or CBS could not even compete with.

The problem I see with these types of sites are copyright violations. Let's say you post a revised nintendo clip, funny family guy picture, or funny clip from a movie, all it takes is for one big corporation to get pissed off and shut you down and go after your assets. I don't think it's worth it unless your either dumping non copyrighted videos or going offshore. Bandwidth is also an issue but I am sure income usually covers that cost

ebaumsworld is one of the biggest and they only clear just over 1 million a year so i doubt collegehumour is coming close to 10 million
