IF he is also stealing your content. Report him to your content provider. I don't think too many content providers care for that.

IF that be the case... also report him to his sponsors with his linking code.

FRONT THE GALLERIES OFF on every messageboard you can find. TGP webmasters have been known to see this stuff from time to time.

I don't see how you think you can protect a layout or a design... you are putting it out there for arguably 100,000's of people to see everyday.

I understand where you are coming from... it's your work product. You came up with the color scheme, the font, the table structure, the image sizes, the catchy text.

But I'm sure you have inadvertantly borrowed concepts from other people. Over time, you tweak them, maybe decide to put it on a different color background to see if that changes the click through rate. At what point does it stop becoming that other webmasters design and start becoming "YOUR OWN"??

well...anyway... just my thought on it... don't worry about it...and just go on doing your own thing.

my advice is to get pissed, have a few drinks and then get over it. There really isn't much you can do other than that. It has happened to me several times. I make a good gallery, get it listed, get some sales and then I see ther people doing the exact same things. I've even had tgp webmasters copy some of my sponser text I've written. But really you could go after them but you don't really have a way of proving anything. You can say " they stole it from me!" and the they say " No he stole it from me first."

Like was posted before if they have stolen your content report them. If it's just the gallery layout get over it. You could write them a nasty email so maybe they won't do it again.

Ok, here's what you do. Go to whois and find the address info. Then go over to his place (if it's not a PO Box) and kill him. Problem solved. That's what I do and I haven't had any copycats in about 2 months now.:thumbsup

Seriously though, just be flattered and move in. Put all your energy into making money and reading GFY so that you can get Paid In Full(80's flashback: Eric B. & Rakim). I have people copying my designs once in while and it makes me chuckle.

it happens to me every month , who cares just move on , often they leave my ref codes in there and i get there sales so it aint so bad......

easiest thing to do is get the copycat BANNED on all major traffic sources. if he gets traffic he will stop copying you real quick.

this is funny, you know why? well because i know some guys who hacked his site sasush.com it was ithink. then they put there contect there and spamed it, so they used it as a spam proof server poor guy, and now somebody is stealing his designes...
