Dog Racing vs. Horse Racing ?

Personally I like the dogs myself but I've never been able to figure out a good system for picking them.

:helpme Any suggestions cause I'm heading to the track this weekend! :upsidedow

you support dog racing? do you know how those dogs are treated? check it out - you might be very disturbed

Favorites favorites favorites

Work your system on 5 out of 8 favorites winning.

Dogs are SO predictable, but payout shit.

;-)

Not the case here in Florida.

In fact adoptable Greyhounds are some of the best pets for adoption. When the sad day comes that my dogs pass I will adopt a few racing Greyhounds.

Could find nothing about dog racing on your blog. :(

Question: You support porn? Do you know how some of the women are treated? :cool-smil

My daughter works with the adopted Greyhound program & she has 2 herself. Most of the ones she has worked with are ones that 'didn't pass muster, and were adopted out early. I really don't know about the ones that have been on the circuit for a couple of years. I am led to believe that it is not as bad as it used to be since the society was formed & all the bad publicity.

When I was a tourist in Florida, I used to go to the FT Myers/Naples track a lot. My best days were when I just drew numbers out of a hat. One afternoon when setting in the grandstand, I dropped my program to the open area below. I had just won the daily double, so of course I was convinced that my pre-picked numbers were gold...ahahahhaha I ran down the steps like a maniac & grabbed my program out of a guys hands that had just bent over to pick it up. All my friends in the stands were laughing their asses off. Well, I only had one other winner in the whole day. If you want to go to the track and just have some fun & not make or lose any money - just bet a favorite to show. You will spend all day picking up your $2,50 to make another $2 bet:-)

Of course the $6.00 boxed quinella is either make or break.... That is my real weakness, trying to pair a longshot with a favorite - so the paybacks are decent. Now that I live down here, I only go when I have company to entertain.

we don't have any dog racing here but it sounds alot more enjoyable to watch then horses.

tristan_D 01-18-2006 05:48 PM

I think its easier to appreciate dog racing more since almost everyone owns a dog

WME 01-18-2006 05:55 PM

I prefer betting on the conventiona horse race.

mikeyddddd 01-18-2006 06:03 PM

Thoroughbreds only.

PixeLs 01-18-2006 06:52 PM

I've never seen dog racing yet but I've tried betting on horse races several times..

they are great pets and thats true but still lots are put down when their like 5 years old...not enough people to adopt them all, these tracks make the money off them and then shoot them in the back alley when they are too slow to race:(

good on ya for adopting though

Peter_ANYwebcam 01-18-2006 07:35 PM

I pic the dogs that have names that sound like horse's racing names.

not my blog...just my favorite one...

and as crazy as some of the talent may be, they have more freewill than a dog...

maybe i'm misinformed and they don't hurt the dogs anymore...i hope that's the case, as i like dogs (goldens) more than people sometimes

HDADULT 01-18-2006 09:11 PM

If they dogs take a shit before the race, bet on it despite the odds.

Not sure why but its a good bet and a trick I learned from my grandfather. It may only happen a few times a night.

Spunky 01-18-2006 09:29 PM

Horses only..I don't like the way the dogs are treated if they don't win
