Advertising Dollars on Yahoo
 

Hi,

Is it worth spending advertising dollars to be listed in Yahoo and if so can any one explain what I get for my money, for non adult sites it's 300 dollars and for adult sites it's 600 dollars for one month.

Will they list the url in good place (in the directory) or will it get many visitors ?

Is it worth it ?

It's a $600 fee to just be reviewed in 7 buisness days, then IF they do add your site it will be a $600 annual charge to remain in the directory.

As for how much traffic you can expect this will all matter on the type of site, keywords you use when submitting.


I would suggest going and doing ALOT of research of how to rank well and what it takes for a site to be listed in yahoo before you go waste $600 and not even get added.


Spend the time researching how to rank well and you will do well.

We paid the $700 for the listing for one of our sites. For the first week it was great - We got hundreds of hits for our section because we were listed in a "new" section. After the first week he down to less than ten hits a day.

On the other hand....... A while back one of our sites was listed as "most popular" in the section it was listed in, and we got hundreds of hits from Yahoo for months.........

Was it worth it? Doubt it. We got a better listing for free by playing the search engine game.
