never tried it but have heard of it, it's supposed to be really helpful in weight loss but it's also herbal, so who knows

The _real_ thing is supposed to be very effective. I dont know about the stuff you can buy online, but I guess its just mumbojumbo. Word is, Pfizer tried to synthesize the hoodia substance, but gave up because it was to expensive.

I hear the ads on the radio all the time, like every hour on the hour. Must be making some nice sales to do radio ads to an 888 number.

The plant is from Africa, and from what I have read it is being harvested at an alarming rate, and they say that it works wonders. But there is little to no research about it. Just what the natives say.

Well, from the ads I've heard (don't take this as fact but as a selling pitch), Hoodia is supposed to fool the brain that you're not hungry so you won't have cravings to eat. Not really a great way to lose weight in my opinion, but I'm sure it'll sell with that angle.

Never tried it Juicy, but got a friend who packages and markets the stuff and is doing very nicely.

Another product is noni juice - the better versions come from volcanic soil and hence from Hawaii region and some from Costa Rica. Know two guys in CR growing/exporting the finished product and they can't grow enough.
