What have you kept from your childhood - Post pics

My father has just recently moved back to melbourne and after helping him unpack today at his new house, i came across some things that he had kept from my childhood, things that i did not even know he had kept, like old school reports and toys, but my favorite thing was of the pics below, My wooden Fred Flintstone painting that was given to me when i was 7, its funny how things like this can bring back so many memories of your childhood, i would not go to sleep a night unless i knew he was there in my room lol.

My parents moved last year to a new place and in the midst of moving came across my toy box that I had as a child .....They had it in their basement forever... I moved out in the 90's....

Last Week they dropped it at my house and I havent seen this since 1983-84ish ?......

Opened it yesterday and it blew my mind to see my childhood stuff there in front of me again after 20+ years. :thumbsup

Hot Wheels cars, I still have a bunch.
My mom gave them to me awhile ago and that got me started collec5ting them again.

Some are old one, some are newer ones

I was cleaning our house last weekend and I found no old pics but a box of old marvel comics... I'm planning to sell them out. lol

I lost all my old momentos in Katrina with the exception of an old metal ferris wheel from the 40s that was my mom's when she was a kid and I would play with it each time I went to visit my great uncle upstate. Nearly 20 years after he died a friend and I were in the town he lived in and we went to his house which had been well picked through but I was thrilled to find it in the attic and brought it home.

Back in the day in the late sixties, when you bought a full tank of gas you got a Matchbox car. For 1968 and 1969 my grandmother got every Matchbox car produced - and then bought the stands to display them in.

Some of these cars are considered rare and are worth a pretty penny.

Babagirls 04-18-2006 10:08 AM

nothing really. umm.. i have those "slap braclets" (ya'll remember those?) but thats it. my mom moved around alot and threw everything of mine away (even a brand new leather jacket, she was just fed up with having so much shit in her house). pissed me off that she didnt give me time to fly down and get all my shit.

majorbitch 04-18-2006 10:08 AM

No laughing and no how gross.

I still have my pillow from when I was 3. Parents bought it for me while waiting in the ER when I had pneumonia. I have used it ever since.

P.S. I have dumped girls who messed with or tried to get rid of my pillow.

My earliest memories of it are at age 4 or 5. It was kinda the house toy, so I'm sure I played with it before that:)

I've held onto my Little Bo Peep outfit, and often wear it around the house when no one is home.

Lost my entire house in a fire in 1997. All my childhood things were in a center hallway where the fire was the strongest. When I finally got to go back in there was nothing left but memories :(
