News Update about our son

Sometimes miracles do happen. We're going back to Sainte-Justine tomorrow for more scanner tests. We've just received a phone call. They told us it might be possible to treat him here but they need more tests!! OMG!!! Let's pray it is possible.. We'll have the results tomorrow night.

Even more good news, the doctor that told us he had a glioma brain tumor asked for a second opinion and they are very positive that they will be able to treat Samuel and that it might not be a "glioma" type of tumor after all.

That doctor is so stupid. How come he's giving us horrible news when he wasn't sure himself and needed opinions from other doctors. He should've waited a little longer. We got a call on Sunday from him to come as quickly as possible... Telling us it can't be treated in Canada. Then 2 days later he says it's possible.. What the hell.

The surgery should be in 2-3 weeks in Montreal!!! After that he will receive Radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment. They should be able to remove a large part of the tumour with the surgery alone.

Thank God we went to Sainte-Justine when we got worried, 2 months later and maybe it would've been a different situation.

This is really good news.. We still have to go back for scanner tests but at least we know he will be treated here. Both my wife and I can't believe it. There's always hope..

Brujah 09-26-2006 09:32 AM

I just heard about this.. what a horrible thing to have to go through. Hopefully, the news will keep getting better and better.

pr0 09-26-2006 09:42 AM

My thoughts are with you & your family. I'm so glad you'll be able to have him treated in Canada. Otherwise you probably would have had to sell your house/car...everything you own to bring him to texas.

So this is awesome news. If you need any help with updating sites etc. while you're back & forth from doctors (and trust me that will eat major time) let me know....i'd be more than happy to donate some of my time & expertise.

My icq is 440 887

scottybuzz 09-26-2006 09:46 AM

flashfreak 09-26-2006 09:56 AM

best of luck man...

I can only imagine how you feel... I'm waiting for a babygirl in one month too.

jayeff 09-26-2006 10:14 AM

I mentioned in the last thread that one of my daughters went through this. I didn't want to add to what you were already feeling, so I didn't write that it seemed odd they were sending him for treatment after (what I understood from your post was) a single set of scans. I'm glad - but not surprised - that is not now going to be the case.

I remember how hard it was to take in so much information, particularly at such an emotional time and especially when a lot of it is put in very technical terms. If it would be of any help, I can give you an idea of what exactly to expect and the kind of questions you might want to ask your doctors.

You can ICQ me on 96259431 and I can call you or give you a number to call.

MissMina 09-26-2006 10:14 AM

Lots of positive vibes sent your way...Fingers and toes are crossed too.

MrIzzz 09-26-2006 10:18 AM

my heart goes out to you bro. I pray for your son's health:thumbsup

pornpf69 09-26-2006 10:19 AM
