so what is going on with Google pay?
They were taking up Paypal ?
And Google talk? that would be the next msn? Even video.google failed and they bought youtube for a ridiculous ammount. For the number one internet company with massive funding they sure have a hard time pushing new products. So when will this bubble burst? |
i think google is just positioning itself right now. they have something like 10 billion in liquid cash and a market cap of like 130 billion. things take time to mature like google pay and google talk. those products will slowly gain popularity. imho

Let's face it, we all know what their big problem is:
1. Their search engine is popular because it's text based, not a ton of graphics and tables and menus and bloat like Yahoo. 2. Because of that, they can't integrate all of their other features into the site well, and they don't get enough exposure in front of surfers. It's a catch 22. But soon or later (when they achieve world domination) they're going to have to go "portal". :2 cents: |
They will not have to "go" portal. They can run other sites and net business completely away from google.com

1. the SE is a huge success
2. gmail is a huge success 3. google earth/google maps is also a great success 4. google desktop - another great success 5. google news - another one... 6. Google AdSense/Google AdWords - great 7. ... i don't think this bubble is about to burst anytime soon... |

Google Checkout is having some troubles taking off, it is one of the reasons right now they are offering $10.00 off your order at select stores (like buy.com) until October 31st. I think it'll catch on, just needs some time.
