starpimps 02-02-2007 06:56 PM

widescreen all the way

MikeVega 02-02-2007 07:43 PM

I Have a dell wide screen and i would go wide screen if i was you . I also have a 17" LG and the picture is great. I always thought Samsung was a better brand but i see a few people don't like them .. if the price and specs are the same then I'd read some reviews ..

northboy 02-02-2007 07:45 PM

just get Viewsonic then, Samsung is fine also.

KrisKross 02-02-2007 07:52 PM

I've got a Samsung 19" widescreen (941BW). I'm going dual as soon as I get a new desk.

BusterBunny 02-02-2007 07:57 PM

Ya reason 1 was so when My kids are playing behind me and one of them screams or starts crying I can see why. Second is if I open my blinds I can see in front of my house. This comes in very handy when waiting on a ups or fedex pickup or delivery. Im ocd when Im waiting for a package and get up about 20 times an hour everytime I hear a car and look out the window. lol

naitirps 02-02-2007 08:14 PM

Just standard mirror hangers and longer screws to get the angle right. They are going to be gone soon though putting a 30" plasma up in the corner there and taking down the old style Tv to the left. Adding shelving for storing more content dvds to the left and right of each speaker that go from top of my workstation up to the ceiling.

MikeVega 02-02-2007 08:38 PM

Few things i noticed about the pic ...

1st i have the same laptop holder and i love it ... nice

2nd I love my silvercash red hat .. i have 2 and i wear it at least once a week. great hat.

3rd mirror idea is great and would also help my OCD

4th You have some great LCD monitors but a cheesy tube TV strapped to the wall. break down and get a nice lcd TV for the wall ...

over all nice set up

xenilk 02-02-2007 09:18 PM

I have two Samsung SyncMaster 931bf, served me well. Especially if you multi task alot (programming and all)

dready 02-02-2007 09:55 PM

Samsung or Viewsonic.

it is a very nice setup, wish I was that clean

I would imagine the cheesy tube is for his video editing, to see what he is cutting or rendering

Jace 02-02-2007 10:05 PM

btw, I got a Westinghouse 19" lcd widescreen for xmas and it is awesome

RawAlex 02-02-2007 10:10 PM

At this point, widescreen seems to be the choice. My next ones will likely be widescreens, and probably viewsonic (all the viewsonic monitors I have used, including the VP201b in front of me now) have had great image quality and solid color rendition.

blwurmnd 02-02-2007 10:11 PM

I'm not big on teh widescreen. The one I got distorted the images and wouldn't let me adjust how far its stretching things

Jace 02-02-2007 10:14 PM

I had a friend ask me about my widescreen monitor last week, he said "sounds great, but is it annoying that everything is stretched so much horizontally?"

LOL...i was like "um, it isn't like a widescreen tv where it takes the picture and pulls it to either side" haha

hehe you didnt read my above post close enough. 30" or close as I can get to that plasma is going where the mirrors are very soon. That way I wont get a cramp in my neck from turning left. :winkwink:

Nah just a tv Ive had for about 5 years or so. Has a line running across the top 3 inches of the screen even lol. :Oh crap Its on 24/7 though so it gets beat up.

Elli 02-02-2007 10:19 PM

My research (quite extensive by this point) is leaning towards the Samsung monitors. I'm wanting the 205BW (soon to be discontinued), but might give in to the 22" if the price is right.

I never have really minded paying for refurbished merchandise, always had good luck really....we got our digital rebel for $600 refurbished, works perfectly

Um, that XB Store seems to be operating out of Spain.

XBStore Company
Calle Mayor, 40
Zaragoza, Spain 50001

Telephone: 0034976361855

That's no good, compadres. They're selling North American electronics from Spain? Or the company is run out of Spain? And it's all items that could very easily fall off the back of a truck. I'm suspicious. The whole minimum order thing is very fishy.

Right keep in mind with LCD screens there is usually a reason they were refurb. Might be a good chance of stuck pixels. I have none on either of mine gladly.

Appears to be a good deal. Im pretty fickle about monitors though. I had to physically see these ones and test them at the store before I bought. Compusa is where I got my samsung, but got them right at the store instead of having them shipped. I tried to get them to give me a better price since I was buying 2 but they wouldnt budge, so I left. Figured newegg would be cheaper, but after they shipping they were actually more at the time. So went back the next day and got them.
