17 Year old Stoned to Death in Iraq
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/...ing/index.html
The first part made me think, well, maybe it isn't all bad that the US went over there and whatnot, shit like this shouldn't happen. Then I continued reading and it says... "The killing is said to have spurred the killings of about two dozen Yazidi men by Sunni Muslims in the Mosul area two weeks later. Attackers affiliated with al Qaeda pulled 24 Yazidi men out of a bus and slaughtered them, a provincial official said." To me that shows that they take care of things in their own ways, and you're not going to stop them all. One part stepped out of line being idiots, and another part retaliated in response to make it deathly clear that shit won't be tolerated. To say that's barbaric or whatever, well, what would you want the US to do about it other than retaliate too? Calmly explain, hold lessons? Perhaps we don't examine enough how they handle things. People don't love to go around fighting all the time for no reason. |
what i can say....the world is still on barberian level
|
damn, that's too nasty!!saw the news on the other board and that's fuckin' sad coz the official on that country can't do anything to save the girl's life!!

Plus they won't stop fighting, they think God is telling them to do it, that it's their holy duty. So the US will keep blaming them for keeping the shit going, and stay, or even escalate. |

When was the last black man hung by whites for having sex with a white person? Don't the KKK claim to be Christians? |
Agree... it is sad that people get terminated by "honor killings" and this case is no less disgusting.
However, there are around 5000 "honor killings" each year - spread over many countries and this has been happening for centuries without much comment from news media. At the same time, around 4,500 children under the age of five are dying in Iraq alone every month from hunger and disease - I never noticed the "feature" on the media covering their plight. Wonder why?? Prior to that time there were 6,000 - 7,000 children dying every month in Iraq due to .. wait for it.. that old word "sanctions". I never noticed the "feature" on the media covering their plight? Wonder why?? At the same time as the "sanctions" were happening. there was a note in the media that the old friend of the US (someone called Hussein) was baking babies in ovens in the desert which was subsequently admitted as being a total fabrication - much like the WMD fairly tales. It is strange that any government can make up tales of others abusing kids while ignoring the 6000-7000/month deaths which they themselves were instrumental in causing. To keep our outrage and concern for the 5000 "honor deaths" internationally in proportion and stick to only Iraq, there has been an increase of 150% in child mortality rates since 1990. In 2005 alone about 122000 Iraqi children died before the age of five, about half of them perishing during their first month of life, due in part to the levels of depleted uranium kindly donated by the US in their advance of freedom and democracy. I never noticed the "feature" on the media covering their plight? Wonder why?? Catching glimpses of a "honor killing" in an elected US enemy region and whines of "how terrible" and "evil" these people are - pales into total insignificance in relation to the damage caused by US "wars" in that region. I never noticed a "feature" on the media covering the extent of this damage? Wonder why?? PS And the above is only of children - and takes no account of either trauma, deaths and maiming of adults in that region. Reality seems very far away when we sit in "western world" and look on. |
My girlfriend read a book a couple months ago written by a girl from Jordan where her friend was murdered in an "honor killing" for shaming the family.
Its a true story and the author who now lives somewhere in Europe is being hunted by her family and if ever found she too will be taken back to Jordan and killed by her family. |
Everyone in these countries should be lined up, questioned, and if they give the wrong answer (you know ... "yeah, if my family was shamed I'd wanna kill the person responsible) .... Shoot em.
Kill all the fucks who act like this. That poor girl (and every other who has that kind of brutal treatment for NOTHING!). This kind of barbaric act just proves that these people have no compassion, feeling, or intelligence. In fact, why are they even wearing clothes? Hell, they're so fucking primitive, they can't surely be at that stage of development? Sorry but this is sick. Fucking sick freaks. Anyone who argues this is as sick. |

Christianity as it's written does NOT condone violence of any sort. If you commit an act of violence in Jesus name you are NOT a Christian, you're a fuciking moron. |
Just make sure you all remember it's not nearly all of them, it's a small percentage of the wacky, they probably have no idea what life is like outside of where they live either.

Innocents get killed, and that's horrible. And some troops are sick fucks who should be wiped out. But killing your 17 year old sister or whatever because she was seen with a man from a different religion? Seriously!!! HOW can you compare the scenarios?! You're talking out of your ass. Stop using the whole fucking war as a comparison to this poor girl and people like her. Her fucking family came in and murdered her!!!! Fuck Sake! |

I might not tolerate their rules, but I respect them because Iraq is not the USA and the ppl there are living according to their own rules and their own culture. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, because its an INDEPENDENT country. As about the war, you haven't even answered to my questions... What was a reason to start a war against the Iraq? Why the US army invaded the independent country? Why they are trying to set the US rules there? Why they kill thousands and thousands citizens of the other country? I believe you just one of that brain-washed crowd that can't think. You are used to eat everything your government feeds you: the spoiled food from McDonald's, the spoiled news from FOX etc. You are living in your own small world of fantasy and have no idea about the world outside your own yard :2 cents: P.S What's about Saudi Arabia for example? They also have death penalty for homosexual relations, for prostitution, for unfaithfulness etc. Why don't you blame them? Why your army hasn't invaded those countries to "bing the the freedom"? Try to find the answer using your own brain. Good luck on that! |

I am NOT a US patriot who follows every word the president says ... I'm not even from the USA. I also think George Bush is a fucking retarded pile of shit. I was talking about a girl being stoned to death and you brought the war into question. YOU have to argue that. Not me. I didn't wanna talk about the war in the first place. But you're sweeping this kind of shit under the carpet by using the war as your argument. Dude ... how do you think that girl felt as the boots of those men smashed into her face, and as each stone broke bones in her body, for the maybe 20 mins it took for this brutality to kill her? What do you think was going through her mind? "Oh never mind, there's worse off people" ? I don't think so. Drop the war bullshit. It has fuck all to do with this whole topic. That shit is sick, and you're only sounding like you're condoning it by saying how you have respect for it. |

I mentioned the war just in relation with this: "The first part made me think, well, maybe it isn't all bad that the US went over there and whatnot" |

I'm not in anyway saying I argee with the way tens of millions of muslims in a dozen or more countries live, but this girl is likely not even the only one killed in that manner that day... Stonings are quite common in many Muslim countries... |
