opening more than one adwords account
Will google get pissed off?
say you have an adwords account that they jacked all the cpc prices through the roof, making it virtually unusable is it safe to open a brand new account using a different email, and different credit card, and different name, but still have the ad links pointing to your same websites? will google consider the fact that it is the same websites being advertised and hit you with high cpc prices right off the bat again? |
and I know, adwords sucks, but in mainstream it can be a valuable tool, they just like to make it as expensive to use as possible it seems
|
Aren't the CPC prices based off the keyword? Why would they jack the price because of the site you are linking to?
|
cpc starts low
if your ad doesn't perform to their liking (which seems pretty algorithmically difficult to determine exactly why), then they generally keep raising the price for the same keywords, even if there is no competition for that keyword so for example, one day you might be paying 10 cents cpc, things will be going well you think, then they turn you off and ask for 20 cents cpc, that might go for awhile then they ask for 50 cents, then they ask for 1 dollar, then 5 dollars cpc same keyword once your price cpc goes up it seems to not want to come down again, and they will raise your prices for all your keywords at the same time I think they like companies like Amazon that have a big budget and get alot of clicks when people do a search, they say if you generate alot of clicks your cpc goes down, but the formulas they use are mysterious |

They whole strategy for Adwords is pricing your max. click bid right for your keywords, if Adwords were to change them for you, I think that would piss off a hell of a lot of people. You might want to make sure you are setting your Max bid correctly, because I don't think they can or will go over that. |
they never go over the max bid, they just inactivate your keyword by raising the price
I have many keywords that were working fine at 20 cents per click, they inactivate them and now it says: "Inactive for search Increase quality or bid $5.00 to activate" |

but that leads back to my original question, can I safely start all over by opening a new adwords account under a different name to advertise the same site? because they started out only charging me 5 cents a click and I got lots of impressions before they jacked me up to $5 a click, now no matter what I change my ads to or how relevant they are, they have me at $5 or $10 a click... so how do I restart at a reasonable price? it seems like trashing the account altogether might be my only solution, but not if google has the site that I am advertising as being flagged as a high price per click customer? |

They'll pretty certainly ban you within a couple weeks.

And though YOU might think your ads are relevant obviously they aren't. |
so what is the best solution at this point when one finds themselves faced with $5 and $10 per click charges on any keyword?
no matter what I do to the ad now or the keywords, it seems like my account is set to a high cpc I'm not about to risk paying $5 a click just to start things up again, and I don't want to get banned |

Or you could just fix your quality score...
Its more then likely your site is no relevant to your keywords. You probably have a very high bounce rate. There could be other factors that are playing into your poor quality score though. If you make a new account, you risk being banned. Once you get banned you are banned for life. Any account than you linked could be banned also. ICQ me tomorrow and I will tell you what is wrong with site for a price |
It is my understanding they don't allow it.
|
They do not allow it for the purposes that you would be doing it for but as has been pointed out it would not help anyway if you do not change your keywords and landing page. Do the keywords this is happening with appear in the landing pages content, title, description, ect.?
|
and your new account will have the same issue
don't bid on keywords that are not on the landing page and you won't have problems |
I have 3 accounts. You must use different info for each.
