gornyhuy 11-27-2007 07:08 AM

I got an autoupdate but haven't restarted yet - shit I hope its not a beta. That would not be cool.

AdultSearchGURU 11-27-2007 07:29 AM

Firefox 2.0.0.10

Release Date:
November 26, 2007

SarahLLO 11-27-2007 07:58 AM

I was wondering why suddenly all my saved passwords & history disappeared. Firefox is also being generally buggy all of a sudden, shutting itself down a lot & not letting me view other tabs. I wonder if my BF updated it last night... would the autoupdate clear all of your saved info?

rowan 11-27-2007 07:59 AM

If you want something stable but familiar, try SeaMonkey. It's the new name for Mozilla which is the base code that FF is derived from.

I hope to God that doesn't happen when I restart.

Luckily I had downloaded SeaMonkey last week... using it now. No crazy shutdowns or frozen tabs... yet =)

Every company puts out crap. But rather than put "crap" in the title, they put "beta"

How can I disable the auto upgrading feature?

Tools > Options > Advanced Tab > Update Subtab

Beta releases never show as updates when you launch the program, nor are they installed automatically. The only way to get them is to manually install them.

The auto update (if you have updates set to be automatically applied in Tools > Options > Advanced Tab > Update Subtab) or you'll get a prompt to put it in if you have it set to prompt you before installing, is 2.0.0.10, which is perfectly safe to install and is working fine, as evidenced below.
