Do you think Roger Clemens used steroids?

After that Interview, I think he did. His eye contact was terrible and he projected all the traits of someone lying. Do you think he used the roids?

Brother Bilo 01-08-2008 12:26 PM

Hell ya he used roids, just like most every other guy in baseball. Some guys get caught, some guys dont, but they all use something.

mikeyddddd 01-08-2008 12:29 PM

No. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy told me he didn't.

tony286 01-08-2008 12:30 PM

no doubt in my mind but I can see it big money and you want it to last.

Joe BrainCash 01-08-2008 01:52 PM

What's funny is most of pro Baseball players aren't even "athletes". But there is a lot of money involved...Yes he did take them.

Economically speaking,it was worth it!

Absolutely!!! I am enjoying how he is making a complete jackass of himself! And he has the nerve to keep throwing Petite under the bus??? Karma will get him. Watch and see, Petite will wind up on the stand and be the nail in his coffin!!!:uhoh

mike-al 01-08-2008 02:06 PM

i dont think he was looking down because he was lieing, more so he has to be careful what he says due to litigation

What did I miss him saying about Petitte? The only thing I heard him say was something like, "I'm not going to pass judgement on Andy."

L-Pink 01-08-2008 02:16 PM

Roger was prone to groin injury, IF he did take them I think it was for a short time/injury related. He seems terrified of being in the same class as Bonds or Conseco who depended on regular boosts for performance reasons..

Nydahl 01-08-2008 02:27 PM

I don't know the story or haven't seen any interview.Guess he is that pitcher right?
With or without roids support - Ben Johnson is still the fastest man on the planet for me and thats what matter. If they are willing to risk thier health for money then.....

baddog 01-08-2008 02:29 PM

I would like to think he isn't on the juice.

Topher49er 01-08-2008 02:30 PM

was not surprised at all.

it just doesn't seem logical to be MUCH better at age 40 than you were at 35...

seeric 01-08-2008 02:31 PM

i once shot steroids in my tongue for performance reasons.

he's guiltier than OJ. hilarious to watch him try to delude himself and everybody else into thinking otherwise. that recorded phonecall he made to the guy who stuck the needles in his ass was so cluelessly transparent and calculated its pathetic.

the guy was pretty much washed up when he and the Red Sox parted ways - he shows up to the Blue Jays where this trainer with the roids was employed and suddenly he wins back to back Cy Youngs.

sell stupid someplace else Roger

ManuteBol 01-08-2008 02:37 PM

while in the NBA, I used steroids....which were supplied to me by Chris Gatling

basically he just said he had no idea that pettite was doing them and that he was wrong if he did.

Eli_Canada 01-08-2008 03:36 PM

I watched him on 60minutes.. I think he used steroids.

haha...what an ignorant thing to say. baseball takes more hand-eye coordination than any other professional sport. if you doubt that, try hitting a round ball going 90+ MPH with a round bat first and if you can do that, then move onto hitting around ball going 85+ MPH with spin and/or downward break and tell me it's not an athletic feat to do so successfully

Porno Dan 01-08-2008 09:34 PM

Damn ,I am the first one to say it doesn't matter what a player does or doesn't do.

Steroids were not banned by baseball until 2004, it appears that there were so many players on steroids or HGH that there really was "a level playing field".

I feel that pro athletes should be able to do whatever they want in an effort to be the best there is in their profession.

You missed a lot!!!! Don't want to start listing quotes and statements, but Clemens has become Bill Clinton...."I did not have sex with that woman"

I don't understand the U.S. legal system

how can he be being forced to testify? has he been charged with an offence? I thought that unless the police are charging you with a specific offence that you are free to go? How can they be making his life hell and forcing him to testify at a hearing? can someone explain this, maybe I am missing something.

he has volunteered to testify! he is trying desperately to clear his name of these false allegations!!! just like Bill Clinton made statements to clear his name when he was accused of having sexual relations at the white house. same as oj, john gotti, etc:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Luscious Media 01-09-2008 08:35 AM

Hunger, poverty, the economy...aren't there better uses of tax dollars? Who gives a fuck if a baseball player is juicing? It's a fucking game folks!

Penny24Seven 01-09-2008 07:20 PM

he had roid rage doing a game in the world series a few years back, I remember seeing him lose it when the guys bat broke and Roger went ape shit acting like he threw it at him, when I saw that I thought he was on roids but I didn't really think it LOL

Spunky 01-09-2008 07:21 PM

I think he did for sure

BIGTYMER 01-09-2008 07:22 PM

There is no doubt he used them. Just look at his old pics.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-09-2008 07:33 PM

I always thought there was something a little off about that Clemens feller...

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...ota/yankee.jpg

Clemens should just admit it and come out with his own designer steroid - he could name it Rocket Fuel...

I am willing to bet some percentile, at least in the double figures, in baseball used at one point or another.

charlie g 01-09-2008 08:08 PM

He is a classic roid head. CHEATER

aico 01-09-2008 08:16 PM

yep, I think he used them, and I also think that it's fine that he did. Who gives a fuck, it's not highschool baseball it's a career and you do what it takes to make the most money in your career.

I respectfully disagree...

It is incumbent upon the sport that a level playing field is created, and that players do not feel that they are compelled to use dangerous drugs in order to be able to compete.

Athletes are role models (whether they like it or not), and the reason that High School kids take steroids is because they see their heroes doing it, or they feel that they are at an unfair disadvantage if they don't, when they know others are doing it.

When sports stars of the past decade start developing cancer and die in their 50's due to steroid use, and the sports decide to get serious about irradicating performance enhancing drugs, it will already be too late for tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of young people whom never got a sports scholarship to college, let alone a lucrative pro contract.

I hope the powers that be come down hard on this issue, and take the necessary steps to try and make sports clean.

He had a great response to that incident! He said when he threw the piece of the bat at Mike Piazza, he thought is was the baseball!!!!! When he talks, they need to play a Henry Rollins song in the background 'LIAR":mad::mad:

seeric 01-10-2008 10:16 AM

i think we should jam them all full of roids, build bigger stadiums, make the gloves smaller, the ball bigger, and put animals that kill between the bases for extra thrill to the game.

:)

Brad 01-10-2008 10:19 AM

A better question is does anyone really care? This is baseball we are talking about here.

I think a better solution would be to force all baseball players to take steroids, that may speed up the game and make it a more watchable.

caught that phone call on the radio yesterday. i dont really follow or care about sports ... but i was curious. the phone call was being put out there like a smoking gun... i kept waiting for someone to say something juicy and specific and to point fingers but they both said absolutely nothing at all that could be incriminating on either side. probably they both have risks and reasons not to ... but when someone thinks they are telling the truth and the other is lying... usually, they wouldn't take long to start getting real specific in their accusations.

pretty funny... i can't imagine why they thought it would be a good idea to put that phone call out there since it seemed pretty scripted and vague... but then again, i can't imagine how will smith could become a scientologist either.

That would be fun to watch :thumbsup

LilBro 01-10-2008 10:53 AM

he was better at getting outs....not throwing 100mph....his fastball speed declined with ageand pitched less innings

he is innocent.

poor eye contact is due to camera angle. he was looking at reporter, not at the camera lens.

he is innocent.

I play pool at the bar, that takes even more coordination... I guess I'm an athlete too ;) Anyone that plays any sport is considered an athlete, I think he was just trying to say that it's not as physically demanding as most sports.
