Just saw the trailor for his new "romantic comedy"..Why do Hollywoods goofballs always try to be taken seriously?

Sandler is cooler than you.

Actually, I was dreading this movie when I first heard about it, but a friend who caught it at Cannes said it was really good and Adam Sandler pulled it off really well...probably due to the fact it was directed by Paul Thimas Anderson....

I think the reason most want to do something else is boredom....they get tired of playing the same roles all the time (though if I was making Sandler's $20 million per movie I'd play any fucking role they wanted me too......)

Actually "The Wedding Singer" was a pretty good movie for Sandler, and that was a romantic comedy. Prolly why he is returning to the formula.
