I need a program that converts AVI to WMV..
 

Need it for a PC. What do you use or recommend?

Adobe Premiere is the best video editing program and can save video files in tons of different formats, but it's way overpriced. If all you need to do is just convert an .avi to a .wmv, I'd try Windows Movie Maker as suggested.

Prism Video Converter

Windows media encoder is really easy. Also Pinnacle 11 is like $99 at Best Buy. Sony Vegas is great too but more of a learning curve. Premiere has a huge learning curve.

You can just use the one that comes with Windows... Or use this one Video Charge.

quickmediaconverter is a sweet easy to use open source program...

It has the advanced features along with the basics...

I personally have been using Procoder and After Effects for my format dumps...
