Graphic Designers: What design style is this?
Since all hell breaks out when you call a design web 2.0... Can you all shed some light on what this design style is called:
http://www.miami.com/ Next question - Can you do it? |
That style is called "Broken." Some of the Broken School's common themes are:
* Jarring headlines that use "..." when inconvenient content doesn't fit the designer's expectations * Using an open layout that looks socially interactive or personalizable but completely lacks social interactivity or personalization * Closely related to the above: the ability to create a free account with no apparent motivation for doing so. The Broken School evolves every 7 years or so. The current consensus is that this is Broken 2.0. |

Looks like web 2.0 using a news style theme like www.cnn.com
So the design style IS web 2.0!
Its ugly, and looks like a jumbled 3 column blog.
looks like drupal to me
thought it was a Wordpress blog too!
it is drupal... the source will guide you
all in all i dont think it looks half bad... |
It's called Typical and unimpressive just like every other wannabe web portal.
I don't like the design but it isn't bad my any means, just not my taste. I'd say it's attempting to be "web 2.0" but it's just an overused term to begin with I'm not even sure what qualifies anymore.
I'd call it busy, and you can obtain similar results by pouring bit buckets over an out of the box drupal.
