new MS security fix and zonealarm = no internet access
no sure if anyones had this problem (i did) but a very recent microsoft patch is causing problems with internet access if you use zonealarm. details here http://news.cnet.com/8301-10789_3-99....html?hhTest=1

It happened to me as well this morning. Ultimately I had to fully uninstall Zone Alarm and then reinstall to finally gain net access again. Wasted a good 90 minutes of my time figuring it out.

this appears to be a dns problem, so if you've got you're own servers chances are bind needs updating, i've just updated mine.

it sets the level to HIGH.. effectively blocking all in and out you have to go into options somewhere.. forgot.. have it at home and set it to medium.. then everythign will be back to normal |
