my guess on final dow closing today....come post your guess!

901-909 points

i think it'll level out at 6800-7400 finally (that is if everyone doesn't dump their personal holdings when it hits 6999)

uno 10-10-2008 10:29 AM

I'll guess down about 450 points at closing.

Ethersync 10-10-2008 10:29 AM

Hmm... I'll play. My guess is below 8,000 so... 7,999?

GonZo 10-10-2008 10:35 AM

NIck 3131 knows.

96ukssob 10-10-2008 10:38 AM

my guess is it closes at 7842

spacedog 10-10-2008 10:44 AM

Monday is a holiday here, so..

Hmm..

8236

OMG Jim 10-10-2008 11:06 AM

7800 to 7850

Once it hits 7999 we should see another late day sell off :(

I'm trying to be optimistic and still predicting the bottom to hit around 7100-7200 which would be comparative to the dot.com bust when the market fell about 45% I believe.

Just my :2 cents:

Wolfy 10-10-2008 11:17 AM

down 516 so far....

Prediction: 7825

BradM 10-10-2008 11:19 AM

Closing will rally 125 from current so im saying 8300 or so

JA$ON 10-10-2008 11:19 AM

down 218

Matt 26z 10-10-2008 11:20 AM

I've been buying some, but I'm still holding back for now.

I'll say $7,750 at close.

I predicted 7100 2 days ago & you told me all your sources said 8k firm : )

fuzebox 10-10-2008 11:35 AM

pr0 I've been trying to reach you on icq ;)

woj 10-10-2008 11:38 AM

it won't close below 8k, if it hits 8k it will bounce back a little probably closing at 8.15k or so

Darkland 10-10-2008 11:38 AM

I am guessing around 7,546

RP Fade 10-10-2008 11:39 AM

Im in play today..picked up a couple of stocks :thumbsup

HAPPYPEEKERS 10-10-2008 11:40 AM

Every single day when "The Situation Room" comes on CNN
The last hour the market is open
it goes down so bad.

I am going to say 850 -875 :(

pocketkangaroo 10-10-2008 11:41 AM

There seems to be some major resistance at 8,000. Not sure if that will hold up, but my guess is a mini rally before the close and we end up at 8300.

RP Fade 10-10-2008 11:55 AM

oh and...somewhere between 7900-8100. Some financiers are calling 8000 (+/- 5%) the bottom.

makes sense to me....If i recall correctly 8,000 was the bottom for a very long time, before assets starting becoming over-valued in the past 8 years....true?

Yeah 8000 flushes the system according to some and gives us the real value.

HAPPYPEEKERS 10-10-2008 12:03 PM

Sources still holding firm at 8K but I have a gut feeling that with all the negative media and people like Jim Cramer and Suze Orman telling people to dump their stocks that once we dip below 8K there will be one more big sell off.

People are very emotional right now and don't have the time or expertise to decide for themselves so they listen to the "Perceived" experts. :(

and it looks like we have a winner :thumbsup

RP Fade 10-10-2008 12:13 PM

So far looks like investors feel 8000 is the bottom, we've had a bounce since...but who knows with this market.

I picked up some stocks and gonna forget about them for a few years and just set alerts :upsidedow

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 10-10-2008 12:15 PM

pr0 03-03-2009 01:10 PM

I called it in October.....

Bow Down

$5 submissions 03-03-2009 01:15 PM

If the US follows Japan's trajectory, I call DJIA at around 3000 around 2011-2012

I also call Inflation in the 9% to 15% range. It will start going up this year and probably peak in 2011-2012

I hope I'm wrong.
