Let me ask you this, how are sponsors able to pay $50 / $70 / $100 / $150 PPS?

A few years ago the most PPS payout you could see advertised was $45

Now you see different sponsors posting promos every day paying up to $150 per sale. Thats insane.

How can they afford it, I ask you?

Rorschach 10-17-2008 04:23 PM

* Shaving
* Prechecked hidden cross sales
* Upsells to sponsors that shave and use precheck hidden cross sales

KillerK 10-17-2008 04:24 PM

On the rare case, they actually dont care about a profit. They want to acquire new business.

But what ^ he said

Obviously:
1) Shaving
2) Insane levels of cross sales

I have no clue unless they are shaving. or there memberships are as much as the PPS payout

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 10-17-2008 04:31 PM

Most of the decent sponsors use NATS.

It is said that you can't shave on it, or at least it's very difficult to do so.

So which is it? Can sponsors easily shave using NATS backend?

anything can be shaved, it's just that NATS doesn't come with a built in shave module, which i understand the mansion product does (or did at one stage) - correct me if i'm wrong.

no one could do that on a constant basis..for a day...sure, take a loss on the day and write it off as an advertising expense...but even with 2 pre-checked cross sales, $100 isn't going to happen on a daily basis...

we have a $100 promo day coming up actually :)
again, it's ONE DAY, if we did it for a week or longer, we'd be fucked

Let's say you have a $100 promo day and bring in 200 promo sales on that day...that's a $20K cost. How much does it cost to skin GFY for a week? $25k? Does that mean a sponsor that pays for a GFY skin is shaving, triple quadruple cross selling, etc.? Nope, they used their advertising budget and spent $25K.

Let's say you have a promo on a Friday...well, most affiliates will put you up on Friday and leave you up over the weekend...now they are getting paid the standard payout rate. Maybe they like the conversions and keep you in that spot...was it worth? Would it have been more or less worth it to spend that same money on a skin or massive AVN magazine ad buy?

Promo days are advertising expenses, nothing more, nothing less.

Some affiliates complain about lower sales on promo days...well, possibly because others saw the promo offer and started pushing the same day?

So, a promo DAY at a really high payout...yup, possible to do...over a sustained period...never...without going broke...hell, some programs can't even stay afloat with the normal payouts.

Don't believe anything you read on this board.

Hell, if someone posts on this board that 2+2=4, I google the fuck out of it, call my relatives, ask the neighbors and finally dial 911, among other things, to check the validity of that statement. Especially if some troll, program owner or rep is making such a statement.

That's how we do it. The Recent promotions we did for www.Christymarks.com and www.XLgirls.com killed my marketing budget. I was advertising on several boards, now I simply can't.

Financially the www.ChristyMarks.com 100% promotion was a huge mistake. I hope that the partners cashing in on all the recurring members, will apreciate it, and will provide us some long term support not just on this site, but all our sites.

I'll be running some more promotions on November.

camperjohn64 10-17-2008 10:25 PM

What exactly are "Prechecked hidden cross sales"

Does that mean when you sign up for www.yousite.com the form says ("would you also like to sign up for www.othersite.com too"?) in really small letters?

camperjohn64 10-17-2008 10:27 PM

Ignore what I just wrote, I just read the post by abyss_al.

Who would do that and expect that their chargeback rate would be anything less than 100%?
