If I recall he is a short time away from finishing his courses to get his license. His boss is retiring soon and he wanted Samuel Joe to take over the business. I think someone that does plumbing work day in and day out every day would likely be considered a "plumber". He works for a plumbing company, gets paid by a plumbing company, and makes his living doing... plumbing work. I guess that makes him Joe the Chef?

Apprenticeships are 4 years, a Journeyman becomes one after serving 4 years as an apprenticeship. They then take a test and if they score high enough they become a Journeyman Plumber. So "Finishing his courses to get his license" is kinda bullshit. To get his apprentice license all that is required is that he be employed by a licensed contractor with direct supervision by a Journeyman and paying a few bucks.

In most counties and states sticky that is not how it works, to operate a Plumbing business one needs a Masters License which require 8 years experience, 4 as an apprentice and 4 as a Journeyman, that is I think figured on 2000 workings hours per year not just saying you have been doing it for 8 years. He could buy the company 100% and never carry a license at all in most places. He can of course hire a Licensed Master.

If you work for NASA that does not make you an Astronaut, working at a hospital does not make you a surgeon even though you could say you work in the medical field "while you emptied a bedpan". He could be Joe the book keeper or Joe the janitor or even Joe the expediter and still be doing "plumbing work" since it is all plumbing related. The fact is in most locations Joe could own the company and still not be a Plumber.

You're right, the part about him not "officially" being a plumber is kind of splitting hairs, but its a side note that fact lends itself to is that nothing about where this guy was coming from with his question nor the way that McCain is using him in his campaign makes sense. Everything about him and what he said has a big hole in it. If he was making over 250k, then no problem, legitimate question, plumber or not, no problem... legitimate question, done. But again the fact remains, since he does not make over 250k, his question was illegitimate. He even fumbled over the amounts that the business makes to make sure that he stated an amount that would be ober 250k. To fake it was the only way that Joe could put a proverbial finger in Obamas chest (for whatever reason he has to do so) somethinig he would not have had any leverage to do so had he told the truth... that he makes 40k/year and is not "getting ready" to buy his bosses business, as he said, "Its a dream of mine". Since the truth is not much to stand on against Obama (in fact its reason to stand with him), Joe had to make something up.

Obama said he would be taxed when he was under the impression that Joe would be making 280k per year like Joe said. Surely he would take the man at his word. Now that Obama has the correct information and Joe admits that he makes no where near that, the fact is clear, Joes taxes will remain the same as they are now under Obama. You can't lie and say you're gonna be making 280k and then run around and say "see he's gonna tax me" when you actually only make $40k. That's simply a lie.


Bottom line, IF YOU MAKE OVER 250k YOUR BUSH TAX CUT WILL GO AWAY, IF YOU MAKE UNDER 250k YOUR TAXES WILL STAY THE SAME. Read that over a couple of times, repubs seem to not hear that.

It's a guy who stretched the truth and asked an illegitimate question in order to be able to corner a guy who he is against (for some reason that's not logically nor reasonably apparent). Its simple really. He asked Obama a simple hypothetical question in his own front yard. He did not request Obama to come there. So much for the (keating conspiracy) lol. He asks him the question we all know what he asked. Obama answered. Doesn't matter whether he already owns it. In fact I think its pretty damn smart to find out the answers before he takes over the business. Him and his boss had already talked about him taking over the business. Would McCain like to keep the Bush tax cuts for all? Sure. Does the president pass tax laws? no. CONGRESS does. He can ASK Congress to keep the Bush tax cuts for the highest income bracket. What are the odds a Democratically controlled Congress will do that? NONE. So McCain is making promises he KNOWS he can not possibly keep. Also Mcain want to tax the health care benefits fup those same people making $250,000 as income which they are not now curently taxed. So how is he not raising taxes? McCain wants to give everyone making undeer a certain amount a $5000 check to spend on health insurance. How is that not a government handout? McCain supporters can not explain these things.
