sponsors starting to move away from crossells

i guess the mantra is if you cant do it real aggressive and have to put it in front of everyones eyes, maybe its not worth it?

post from another board

I have been notified by 12 of my "favorite" sponsors in t he last 24 hours that they are either giving an option to opt out, or discontinuing this practice all together within their program.

I see this as a major turning point due to recent issues raised amongst our peers on this board and others.
I see the industry streamlining more and more in the future and myself hope they intensify by doing some weeding as well.

Good! Unless now they plan to do completely hidden scam practices now... I hope they start moving away from PPS special days too... see what they cause: http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=870351

Yea I won't promote sites that do outside cross sales. I don't mind upsales to sites that I get credit for but I hate the shit these scumbags have been doing where the surfer ends up getting ripped off with the hidden and pre-checked cross sales.

btw who is the affiliate contact for diesel action these days? I used to talk to Soul Rebel but I guess he's gone now. Haven't had a contact person since then.

ok thanks.. doesn't have to be a rush or anything. Just when ever, I just wasn't sure who to contact on ICQ.

i can count only 4-5 such programs, though SBD is subscribed for 1000+ of them. and not all refuse from x-sells, but just add x-sells free tours to promote.

ask there to list these programs. don't know why, but my post with this question was deleted.

anyway i support even these 3-4 )

You mean like a complete set of similar pay sites with all the shady practices they can put in them but that affiliates don't see as they're not for promotion by them?

No surfer want the cross-sold product, he or she clicked to join to get the content on the page they visited and liked. Therefore x-selling is fucked even if it's clearly visible it is still shady practice that will scare away potential customers.

:thumbsup

well said, i agree that when surfer is trying to sign up with the site that he wants to signup, putting other sites in the signup page will scare and confuse him.
