If you are somewhat NEW to this industry, you may or may not know about having an htaccess file on your server.

A friend just got hit with a 98 gig over charge from her host. at 1.50 per gig it's going to cost her.

How did this happen? By some FUCKTARDS that like to steal content and bandwidth. They hot link your content from your server that is not protected.

How do you stop this?? Simple. Add this:

RewriteRule .*\.(gif|jpg|png) - [F] 

ha 

order allow,deny 

deny from fusker.com

allow from all

Do youu have any idea how many surfers (%) have referer information OFF ?

All adblockers, build in or external, proxies, some routers, anti-spyware progz, and firewalls all clear out the referer information.

Which will make you lose a lot of potential customers.

What's the price of bandwidth ? Redirecting to a frontpage is so 1998.

It's a lazy solution, a real solution is installing, running, and maintaining SNORT or alikes.
