i think in my 4 1/2 years of GFY this is about the 10th time that your laptop is broken - what the hell do you do with them - practice tap dancing on them? lol

I have a Dell XPS m1330 and it's alright. I've had bad luck with Compaqs. Next will be a MacBook.

pixovore 11-24-2008 02:15 PM

Why the "A" key would fail more than another? Any funny or unexpexted explaination?

i'm selling a used one with the q key not functioning, perhaps you use that key less

dav3 11-24-2008 06:24 PM

I have to ring in here about the Vaios. The display on mine cuts to solid color screen in the most inopportune times. The only way to restore the display to something usable is to hard reboot it. I've had this Sony Vaio for about 2 years and the issue started about 6 months in. It looks nice though. But it's a roll of the dice to be able to remember the key combo to save work when the display cuts out. :2 cents:

tbh most of the laptops sold now, even the cheapass ones, work fine for work stuff. its only when you wanna play games that you have to worry about what laptop to get. as long as it has a couple gigs of ram it should do most work/web/email type things.
