Too bad it's been almost a month since I asked for a design and only received one IM and no emails ..... I'll give him one more day to contact me, then I'll get some one else to do the work

seems like a lot of designers do that... doesn't make sense to me :/

One designer dancing on anothers failure is pretty low.
Perhaps his mom's dead or something, Sexxxy has been around for years, I haven't read of him scamming, so perhaps there's something wrong.. :2 cents:

Eat a dick. I'm not "dancing on another designers failure" at all. I hate to see people getting fucked by missing designers as it gives ALL of us a bad name. I'm bumping to try and help out but thanks for assuming that's my motive Captain Shithead.

Something being wrong or not, the fact remains that his client(s) is/are left 100% in the dark. An email to all your existing clients takes 5 minutes and by owning a service related business it's your JOB to let your customers know what's going on as their projects are waiting on you to move forward.

thats such a shame what a great portfolio. why the hell do designers disappear all the time ?

If you need a designer maybe give JD or Zuzana a try, their design looks good too. I know these 2 are always here and I'm more than sure they won't disappear like that.

it's something I constantly see on this board.

Fact is another designer bumping a thread like this seems like a shameless troll to pick up the scraps of another's failure.

I buy design often, and see it that way, chances are other potential clients do too.
Just give that a thought.

in my experience, they burn out, especially on this board where a lot clients expect the world for $100.
Creativity is hard on the soul, and can't be forced, when it is you can see the result in the work.

What I do when I order, and get a quote for $200 (Obviously under quoted simply to get the order) is send them $450, you should see the difference in work, and how much better service you get.

Designers need to learn however, that if they were to contact the client and say something along the lines of "I'm not feeling this design today, I'm burnt out and I've struggled for hours to come up with something cool and can't. Would you mind waiting a day or two extra for my creativity to rebuild" most times clients would be understanding and they could avoid threads like this.

on the other hand. i experienced clients disappearing while on the process of the development.. then contacted me again after a few months.. that's no prob though coz i always make sure that the payment has been already settled before starting on it. :)

My buddy is a designer, and the stories similar to this are horrifying really, I'd kill if I had to deal with some of the things he tells me.

yeah I see where you're coming from ;) But at the same time I think I've clarified my intentions in this thread. Next time I post in a design thread about a designer being MIA I'll be sure to make it very clear what my intentions are from the very start ;)

omg... yeah man I've been railed pretty hard before. From a couple well known webmasters too. 1 of which... was to the tune of almost 8K...
