TUBE Promotion question... (webmasters/site owners)

Just curious if anyone will admit to anything but I was wondering this.....

Seeing as many sites have taken the approach with Tube sites that rather than try to beat them, may as well join them, sites are now either becoming or are currently sponsoring their full length videos at these tube sites.. or sponsoring the sites themselves... etc etc etc.

I am wondering how much it has affected their signups or is it just another location for marketing material and a full length vid (or collection of vids) is the only way to be involved and try for more traffic?

This whole extended length porn for free thing is amazing to me. Can't understand why logical business people find it necessary to completely dilute the product. It's not like you see AT&T giving away 15 mins of free phone service before you buy anything from them.... yeah, maybe after, but certainly not before.

Does giving away that much product really translate into more business????

Not expecting much with this thread, but who knows. I may get surprised.

using "TUBE" as part of their search is understandable, but doesnt' that defeat the purpose partially anyway. Hasn't TUBE essentially come to mean "FREE PORN"?? Not just samples, but full length free porn.

My thought is..... why advertise to that group of people when it's apparent that the ROI is approaching zero? At that point you are just giving away product in hopes of what? Eventually having them as a customer? Getting a miniscule return (like 1:50,000 signups)?

I honestly don't know, that's why I thought I would ask.
