help me find my dream laptop! [win $25]

First of all, i know most of you don't want/need the $25, so please just help me to find my dream laptop, take 30 seconds out of your day to direct me to your favorite site.....I never forget a favor!

For those of you that do want the $25, here's the perfect chance to help someone out & get paid for your time!

I am looking for the best deal on a laptop with the following specs.

1) Must be 18.4" screen (I am traveling & need a desktop size laptop for entertaining myself)

2) Display must be 1920 x 1080p resolution (or better), unless you can tell me why I don't need this to experience true 1080p blu-ray movies etc.

3) Must have a dual core (minimum) processor 2+ ghz would be nice

4) at least 4 Gig of ram

5) I would prefer a name-brand laptop, but I am open to anything at this point.

The person finding me this laptop (new/not refurbished) for the cheapest price, with the most other quality components....that i end up buying WINS THE $25.

(I am shopping from inside the U.S. so i would imagine the best deal shipping wise, would be to buy from a store in the U.S.)

Remember, new, not used/or refurbished.

Thank you! The winner will be chosen within 48 hours, thanks.

pr0, not interested in the $25 bucks although that is very gracious of you, but slickdeals.net has some pretty good deals on laptops almost everyday. I'd check them out if I were you. :)

I am looking to spend less than 3k.....so no solid state drives for me just yet.

stickyfingerz 12-03-2008 09:09 PM

Only 17" screens, but you can't go wrong with a sager.

I was just going to recommend them. I'm still using a 17" that I have had for over 4 years. Great laptop was just heavy as fuck to carry around.

JD 12-03-2008 09:46 PM

what's the big hub-bub about solid state?

d-null 12-03-2008 09:54 PM

I'd just go in to best buy and get one right away, and install XP on it right off the bat, their prices are good and their return policy is good too.

no need to stress about the decision, you can't go too wrong and no need to spend all kinds of time worrying about it

Chauncy 12-03-2008 09:54 PM

Quick, quiet, cool.

IllTestYourGirls 12-07-2008 08:36 PM

so what did you get?

fuct 12-07-2008 10:04 PM

hands down, IBM err um, Lenovo Thinkpad. You will pay the price to get one, but after that little rollcage-wrapped beast is sitting on your lap, you'll know why you paid the extra bucks.

Dells make me want to puke.. sure they may have fixed the spontaneous combustion issue from a few years ago, but they overheat like a mother fucker. (love the servers though).

if you want a rebate off on it, hit me up pal.. they spam me with deals ever other week.
