Global warming eh? Trying explaining that to the folks loving the -40

CD, Sleazy, stay warm guys! Damn.... To early in the year for this.

WarChild 12-15-2008 12:33 PM

No, you've got it all wrong. Apparently it's going to get much colder before it gets hotter and now it's called Global Climate Change. Try to keep up please.

Sly 12-15-2008 12:33 PM

Right now it is 8° where I am and has been in the teens for the past week. And I thought last year was cold!

Drake 12-15-2008 12:36 PM

I guess we already have pollution control departments so we had to create another bureaucracy to fight global warming. Besides, it sounds so much cooler.

BradM 12-15-2008 12:37 PM

This is a mild climate change. 2.5 degrees isn't going to stop the prairies from having cold temperature. LOL

What 2.5 degrees?

stickyfingerz 12-15-2008 12:37 PM

See the scientists all said we would be having a mini ice age from all the aqua net hairspray we were using. Finally they are right... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

jmcb420 12-15-2008 12:47 PM

global warming was the wrong term to use to describe the earth current condition.

Global Climate Change would have been best to call it from the begining. There are so many dumb fucks out there.....

So let me get this straight then. You're suggesting that over a given period of time conditions will change on a global scale?

Holy shit, that's brilliance!

LadyMischief 12-15-2008 12:50 PM

Well what the "Global warming" experts don't know or don't say is that most global warming periods are followed by global COOLING period. The Medival warming period was followed by a mini ice-age, and is what brought on the Dark ages in europe in that time period.

I agree with the underlying sarcasm in that post :)

You mean dumb fucks like people who believe government propaganda which tells them the earth is getting dangerously warmer due to man made "Global Warming" until all the evidence suggest otherwise at which point the propaganda changes and the new directive is that cooling temperatures are also evidence of man made "Climate Change"?

Of course the only solution to all of this is a massive new bureaucracy, more regulations and the largest tax increase of all time. There no doubt would need to be a lot of "dumb fucks" out there to make something like this even possible.

SykkBoy 12-15-2008 01:10 PM

The earth evolves weather-wise...it always has and always will...species come and go...we'll be no different...thank God

not sure if everyone is clear on how weather works, but yea.. cooling is natural, snow in vegas isn't

onwebcam 12-15-2008 02:58 PM

Global Warming=New tax on the world to fund the UN. If you think your weather patterns are screwed up tell them to quit the chemtrails.

Bill8 12-15-2008 03:01 PM

It's called the "bathtub effect".

Pockets of hot air on the summer side of the planet expand, forcing denser cold air down in pockets on the winter side of the planet.

Basic weather theory. If you actually read at all about the topic you would quickly learn that "gobal warming" models include and predict this.

Not that republicans read science - if it's not on fox or the radio, it's not true, right?

Nice...attack libs....

Anyway, global warming is a fact. I don't think humans should be adding wood to the fire at this point.

BlackCrayon 12-15-2008 03:11 PM

snowing in vegas, raining in ottawa. weather sure can be strange.

Its sad that politics have divided people over scientific facts. Instead of debating on how best to counter act the damage we have done to the environment, politics(especially on the right) has equated smart people with elitism.

Hopefully, in my life time we can change the culture of politics in America. There has been so much damage done by the right and left that nothing is being done on the biggest issues facing America and the world.

Only a fool would think that we can pump millions of tons of gas into the atmosphere and it not have an effect on our planet. Global warming doesn't mean nothing ever gets cool again, that is an absurd way of thinking. The only thing anyone needs to do is be more conscious of how they treat the planet on an individual level. That doesn't mean you have to live in a tree house or wear potato sacks it just means you have to conserve our resources and consequently the planet on which we all live. I know that is a hard concept to grasp in the age of rape pillage and plunder.

TheDoc 12-15-2008 03:33 PM

What we do to the atmosphere, dirt, water, ect.. has no effect on mother earth.. it has a huge effect on humans and animals though, since we do heavy localized damage, which is the only reason we should keep our planet clean.

The earth produces far more of the same toxic gases and far worse pollutes than humans ever could. Thinking 'we' are warning or cooling this planet down is, funny and kinda stupid at the same time.

It also does not mean we need to create huge new government bureaucracies and taxation schemes. In this case the cure is much worse than the supposed "disease". Cap and trade taxation schemes serve primarily as way for corrupt bureaucrats and politicians to enrich themselves and their well connected friends like most other government schemes. If you don't believe me then do some research into how cap and trade has worked out in Europe so far.

The whole thing is just one big swindle being perpetuated by the Marxist left and amoral bureaucrats who see an opportunity to increase their own power while lining their pockets. The only real question is why anyone would be stupid enough to fall for it.

Nice poke, but not what I was going for.

I was simply pointing out that "global warming" as a term, is a misnomer. If its so warm, why snow in Vegas?

And about the "dumb fucks" comment, oh never fucking mind.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh People will think whatever they want and hear anythoing they want in anything they hear.

Martin 12-15-2008 03:37 PM

This thread has morphed into climate change debate lol.

I didn't say I believed or didn't believe in climate change or warming or cooling or whatever it's called these days. I was just picturing some weather sciencetist trying to bring up global warming to somebody living in these regions where the temperature is supposed to hover around -50 tonight. lol. Carry on.

I can't believe you would say our government is conspiring to do something of this nature. You're a conspiracy theorist. :1orglaugh

Well that is true if you look at the earth as a lump of rock with some water on it and assume there is no relationship between the earth and every single life form on it.

That I would wholeheartedly agree with. It seems everything needs to be turned into a business these days no matter what the cause is. That being said it appears to me that the average human needs to be told what to do and how to do it.

Why? Because it is the desert? I have seen snow in Vegas and I don't live there so it must happen more frequently that you think.

Other than I did reference the life forms on the earth, and said that is the only reason we need to keep it clean.

But since we are talking about global warming or climate change, it is a lump of rock with water on it that humans have 100% zero effect on.

This is an actual disorder, and ego/personality disorder. Since you can't fathom the size of the earth you assume the localized changes effect it, but forget that 99% of the earth has no humans on it... it's a control issue, 99% of the planet has it.

So before 100 years ago, when the cars and other "major polluting" factors were not around this never happened in the history of this world? You do know that the ice in the North Pole where Santa Claus lives, and the south, has completely melted before and New York was underwater? Shit, the continents are moving too!!! I guess we were the cause of separating Pangaea? LOL Someone better do something about the volcanoes, as well, because they put out, and have put out, a hell of a lot more of those "major pollutants" than man could ever think of putting out. Speaking of which that hot spot, which is currently underneath Yellow Stone moving toward New York, has blown a lot and makes Mammoth look like a baby volcano, I guess that was man caused as well? Gee, I didn't know man was so almighty and powerful!!! LOL

The egos in this thread are insane. Earth will kick your ass, trust me, you have no power here my friend. It will happen again and we are not BIG enough to stop it. But if you think driving tiny cars, and recycling is going to stop or even remotely influence the earth doing what it has done for millions of years over and over again, then knock yourself out, but don’t put this shit on me and try to stop me from living the life I want too.

I don't listen to talk radio and I certainly do not like listening to the news all fucking day. I apply common sense with the study of a lot of books and watched a lot of *says in tiny voice* "really neat" shows with Drs. of science who have studied the history of earth. I find this planet, among the other planets in this galaxy, fascinating. I like to hear different ideas and theories. I like to see evolutionary facts that are studied in our mountains and graphed in our Oceans. Trust me all of these things show signs of global warming and cooling happening again and again over time in the history of earth before we were even around.

Just the simple fact that some bone head got a group of people who are actually as egotistical as him to fall for this, “Man can stop the earth from changing”, crap is hilarious and sad. What is happening is normal and has been a cycle of this earth for a long long long LONG ASS time.

But hey if you can't believe what you see with your own two eyes, and have to listen to your superior leader Al Gore, rock on!!! Stopping global warming is beyond the means of humanity. I am not saying we should ignore our global duties of keeping our world clean, hell I am all for that, I am saying that there are far greater forces at work here. Don’t tell me that if we do not stop using coal (electricity) and oil, (driving) then we will all die. I was raised Catholic and already had my fill of sinning will make me suffer crap. I am an atheist, I don’t believe in organized religion. LOL

Right.. Nope, no global warming.. That's why our forests are getting deicmated by the pine beetle and they can't get rid of them... wouldn't be because it doesn't get cold enough anymore or anything.. nope.
