What would you do with $20,000 for biz?
 

A friend of mine sold his mainstream site/project off last month and made a good return on it. So hes going to do the same thing again and repeat the process, but has about an extra $20k that he wants to roll into something else.

so I suggested something in adult but not sure really which way to go. $20k is enough to start up a small pay site, but is it worth doing now?

He can give it to me. I'll make sure to spend it wisely.

unfortunately, thats what I kinda thought too. I said he would need more like $50 to $60k to launch a site big enough to start to get a quick return.

either way, hes looking to make about $2k a month off this and make his money back in about 9 months.

does he want to work full time in adult? or just as a side investment with not much work?

he wants to just make some side money, but i told him i would help him out and do the work in return for a % rather than me shelling out more cash.

I told him that its not the same as it was a few years ago, or even a year ago, but he said he would rather take a risk and do something fun, then toss it into a bank and make 5% a year

for long term, i'd go with the stock market..bonds and ETF's.

For quick return, I'd stick with making and shaking a good untapped mainstream site

I did and I still don't think it's a good idea. I'd sooner pull out 20k and stuff it under my mattress than invest in the market right now.

I would be the one mainly running show because Ive been in the industry for a few years. I have a network of niche TGP/MGP sites, legal tube sites, blog sites, review sites, etc, etc. but not sure if i would want to go back and rebuild all over, and really don't want him to try and work into what I'm currently doing... nor do I want to try and teach anything

one thing that i never got into way paid membership sites, but wish i would of about 2-3 years ago, but now, like everyone is saying is the "iffy" time but figured with $20k and a little luck, i could make it work.

i tried to get him into some mainstream projects, but i think with the last venture he had (real estate site) hes tired of "mainstream" people and wants to test the waters in adult. either way, I dont know if its worth the risk of $20k to push into a paysite right now either.

As mentioned countless times, selling online porn is very difficult right now for even established webmasters so it`s particularly dodgy ground for new people in this business.

You should think around the areas of resources/services and what webmasters continue to demand.

Some areas remain vibrant and $20 k certainly allows you/your friend some options.

I'd put the $20k in Freddie or Fannie Mae stock before I'd waste it in Adult, that how much adult sucks right now. This month so far, has been the worst month since 2003..
