Steve Jobs is stepping down from Apple, cites health reasons.

Apple Inc.'s CEO Steve Jobs says he is taking a medical leave of absence until the end of June.

Jobs told employees in an e-mail that his health issues are more complex than he thought.

Last week, Jobs announced he had a hormone deficiency that had caused him to dramatically lose weight.

Apple's chief operating officer, Tim Cook, will take over Jobs' responsibilities while he is on leave.

Most will not panic unless he misses his return date. Now until end of June is well within a reasonable period of time for most people before they freak out. They would figure the next 6 months are already well plotted out and someone just has to sit at the helm and not touch anything.

Now stretch it beyond 6 months or miss that June return date - then expect people to get worried.

its my understanding that you cannot get rid of cancer and the jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.], which recurrs sometimes. i learned a lot about that disease in the past several years and have seen it waste people away to nothing.

If his pancreatic cancer is back, which is likely, he may not be around in 6 months. Inmates on death row live longer than the average person with pancreatic cancer :(

yes this is true.. a better choice of words would be to say his cancer was under control or in remission..

Actually, it was Steve Wozniak (the other Apple co-founder) that produced the US Festival. I was at all three days (David Bowie, U2, Van Halen, Clash, Ozzy, etc).

Sad news about Steve Jobs. I hope he takes some time to just relax and be with his loved ones, and hopefully he will recover...
