does having the word "tube" in a domain instantly make it worth $500 dollars? seriously...

soon enough alot of people who've invested heavily into the tbe domains are gonna get a big surprise, while a small few make off like bandits on the retards who buy at these prices....

it's already been proven that tube in the domain is pointless. aside from youtube list off some of the massive tube sites... NONE OF THEM HAVE TUBE IN THEIR NAME.

like really, if people got in early on some good niche tube domains i'm sure there's a few out there that hold good value, but dingotube.com? blushtube.com?

i'd bet my left nut 75%+ of those domains are hitting the droplist or already lost reg in 2-3 years where someone can grab em for $7, and i doub tanyone will even bother by then.

it's all fun and games until you need a tube name to build a site with. the market is driving prices well above today's special prices.

tubecms.com makes sense. hottube.com makes sense. the others are choice, and props to whoever sold for finding an enduser with the money to spend at those prices. i have no doubt you do quite well with domain sales. but i stand by my statement. the cost of tube domains is way over inflated right now, and while a few lucky people make off big, there's gonna be alot of people shaking their heads over their poor investments soon enough. i think the buzz has already peaked, we should see a downward turn followed by a steep drop off in prices and flooded market within a couple years. i call it the "tube.com bubble" quote that shit, it's mine...

if you have the money to buy a $30,000 domain, you have the money to promote your site with no need to stick "tube" in there. i'd think if i wanted to have a large powerful tube i'd want to rebrand myself as something unique, not be another knockoff *tube.com...

we tried marketing lots of assorted names that do not have the word tube as i personally agree with you. movie makes more sense for example as a keyword. the turnover on the names with the word tube is way higher. also, when you analyze search logs - surfers are using the word tube.

i kinda agree with most of what you say, and i said this myself, how is adding "tube" triples the value of the domain ? its pretty crazy, but then again, its not my business.

yes, several. regularly.

all i see in these domains for marketabilty is the fact that they have a "tube" keyword myself. i understand a trend and have a vision of where the internet is going in the future. i think early adapters will make off big. video is growing at an enormous rate. but the tube thing, is just, i dunno. still seems crazy to me. i sold fuckingtube.com for $40 and was happy. someone will probably tell me they would charge charged 20x that, i still don't care. the way i interpret genuine success with starting a tube site would not be relying upon a tube.com domain. look at a tube like revver or daily motion. i'm willing to bet whoever bought hottube.com never achieves that level. and though i am no domain professional, i can't see either of them having paid $30k+ for their domain. i dunno. just seems nuts to me...

i personally think $30k could be much better spent in launching a tube. but then again there are big players in this game. i know guys doing $xx,xxx daily on the internet. guys who could dump $30k and not think twice when they got a gameplan. so i just don't know.

there will be winners, but i think there's going to be alot of losers in this tube domain world....
