We spoke about this yesterday on GFY and it is coming now..........................
Sirius XM Radio Inc has been working with its advisers to prepare for a possible bankruptcy filing, the New York Times reported on its website on Tuesday, citing people close to the company.
It was talked about on this board that it may not survive this year and it just came about. I would not be surprised if they lost a huge portion of their revenue due to this economic storm and people canceling service even if they have to pay a cancellation fee. This economy is really fucking everyone left and right. |
Wow damn! I was just going to FINALLY get that. Hmmm
|
wow thats great
|
First, I lose XM 82, now, I lose XM? FUCK YOU INTERNET!
|
I just bought a $1,200 Sirius radio, LOL.

even if they declare bankruptcy the radio will be on the air, it is just a restructuring isn't it?

i have been addicted to sirius and xm but i found exactly the same replacement online, and sometime much better ... delicast.com is nice source, many stations, moderated, no ads, fresh music, great jingles ... good bye payed radio stations ... but i am talking about online, sat broadcasting in us and ca is another story ...

Sirius isn't going out of business because of the eco... They were going out of business WAY before the eco issues came around.
|
Their model is fucked... they should have gone with an ad revenue model for free members (like basic cable) with upgrade channels.

Sirius isn't going anywhere - just because a company files for Chapter 11 doesn't mean they're closing their doors and turning off the satellite. They're looking to restructure. The purpose of this move it says in the report I read is to force Echostar to buy Sirius now.
i wonder if they're going to be asking people like Howard Stern who've they signed to crazy contracts to restructure their contracts. I think Howard would have to take less money, I can't see him going back to syndicated FM radio now. |
Thats a fucked up new :(
