So GM is getting more money...$4B to be exact

But it's still not addressing the root issue of no one wanting to buy their damn cars. I mean shit, if you could hardly move product when times were splendid, then how in the sam hell do you expect to move product now?

tony286 02-16-2009 08:41 PM

actually thats not true 2 of the top 10 selling cars of 2008 belonged to GM. The problem is no financing, thats why nissan is cutting 20k people loose.

boneprone 02-16-2009 08:45 PM

America should get out of the car biz.
Leave it to the Asians.

LOL, now that they have the money they are talking about going on strike. They want their share of the money. The union is asking for a 15% wage increase. One of my friend that works there makes $53/hr putting 2 screws in door panels. He said he would rather quit before taking any kind of decrease in pay.

typical. let them quit, im sure theres plenty of people ready to work for half of what they are working for, and then maybe the companies will be profitable for a change.

Yea, but Obama paid back his union buddies. Who gives a rat's ass if the stimulus actually works? By the time the dust clears, the money will be long "redistributed."

The number I heard was $84 an hour (including benefits).

If you fuck off enough during the day, you might be able to pull in double or triple for weekend work.

Thats actually not true its because they added legacy costs of all the retirees to the actual working and divided it. its bullshit.

The mexicans escaping from the real drug wars in mexico that are going on as a result of our "drug war" in the US could come in and work in place of all of these labor union privileged middle american douche bags at a lower cost. Remember, they aren't stupid, they just don't speak the same language as us. I am sure Obama will save the Union Jobs however and make sure that us Americans will be able to pay for the houses we can't afford at higher cost to us all. Or we could legalize the contraband and eliminate the Cartels that are getting rich and killing each other much like Capone and the Kennedy's did during prohibition and address the real problems in our nation.

I don't know.. just a drunken thought...

That's gotta be BS... no way some assembly line worker pulls in 6 figures per year... maybe with overtime, insurance, retirement benefits, etc it comes out close to $53/hr, but no way he is getting $2k paychecks every week... :2 cents:

I just hope Chrysler makes it another 5 years until the Viper warranty runs out .. I don't want to drop $10,000 plus every time something goes wrong .. LOL!

buyandsell 02-18-2009 06:55 AM

With GM I they have loads of small cars in europe (vauxhall) so they already have the chassis designed for smaller fuel efficient 4 bangers and TDI engines...
I dunno why they don't start making them in the US

I thought they were selling off Viper.. I dunno what that would do for your warranty

Its like when I bought a TV at circuit city just after xmas.. they tried to sell me a 3 year warranty

Because it won't sell in the US. American's don't want small compact cars. They want SUVs and crossovers.

Hopefully something good. I have 9,000 miles on it right now, I think, and the warranty runs until 2015 or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. :thumbsup
