Has anyone played Crysis?

If so, how is it? I'm looking for a good FPS game to spend my free time on.

I am only interested in playing online (multiplayer) though, so if you tried that out please give me some input.

Thanks.

From the Gamespot website..

"Crysis is visually stunning, packed with intelligent, thrilling gameplay, and easily one of the greatest shooters ever made."

But yeah, it's a must play if you are a PC gamer. Multiplayer is plenty good. Don't expect to have fun with it though if your PC is not totally tweaked, that's the downside.

But some of the physics will have you watching the game instead of playing it, it looks that good.

A note for console gamers, the Crysis engine was just demo'd on the 360 and the PS3 and it looked amazing. Let's hope we see some games soon for the consoles using that engine.

Crysis is pretty cool FPS with amazing graphics.
Try these games also:
Half-Life 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 5: World At War

If you decide to play offline FPS, I recommend you to play in these games:
Fallout 3 - the best FPS/RPG game I ever played. If you'll become a fan of this game - I guarantee you you forget about work at least on two weeks ;)
F.E.A.R.
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
BlackSite: Area 51
TimeShift
Far Cry 2

3rd person shooters:
Gears of War - have online multiplayer.
Mass Effect
Alien Shooter: Vengeance
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

I like Cyrsis online, but it's got lots of cheaters online.
Single player was cool. Lots of neat stuff to do. Drive jeeps, tanks, choppers.

I've been playing Quake Live a lot lately. Sure it's old school but the gameplay is so perfect that there's really no room for improvement. Super addictive, and I'm normally a total hater of FPS games.

Crysis looks pretty cool though. I dropped cash on it, played for an hour, then binged on Quake for free. Sad.

Haha I've spent at least 5 years of hardcore fragging on the Quake series (1 and 3 especially). It's really far superior to the majority of the games, but I think it's time for something new now.

I played HL2, TF2, CS(:S) and some other FPS games, but a lot of them are based a lot on waiting, camping, and playing tactical which can be fun but in the end really gets on my nerves. From what I heard CoD is like this too, massive camping etc. I'm more into fast paced stuff, a bit like Quake/Unreal Tournament.

I might try out both Crysis and Fallout 3 and see which one fits me best. Thanks for the advice guys.

I built a sick PC so I bought Crysis it's pretty amazing.

I prefer COD4/5 though.

Crysis wars is fun, I would recommend it. However I hope you have a DX10 video card and a quad core.

I dont know anything about the single player side. Who wants to play that anyway?

Crysis is really, really good.

One of the best FPS games i ever played. Very entertaining.

Just make sure your PC can handle it. You need crazy video cards for it.

Overclocked 8800 is a great card.

JamesK 04-02-2009 11:58 AM

Ok I'm ordering the game now :)

My system specs are pretty good, except for the video card (a GeForce 8500 GT). I will probably end up upgrading it, but we'll see.

crysis graphics and gameplay are awesome but its not a good multi player. I like a lot of the battlefield series and counter-strike if u want good multi player fps.

JamesK 04-08-2009 04:21 AM

Ok, I just played it for a few hours and the multiplayer mode was kind of choppy, so I guess I do need a new video card for that. The single player mode however was AMAZING. I haven't had that much fun playing solo since Metal Gear Solid. :thumbsup
